But simply doing something because its easy is not good enough certainly not for Apple. Much more compelling is the argument that gold is one of the most popular after-market color adjustments for current iPhones (including gold cases). And gold has been in the midst of a renaissance in style after years of being banished to gaudy and tacky hell, as I noted above.
When I first heard about gold I thought it was a joke.
Now I can see heaps of people wanting it, not just China and India.
It is more a fashion accessory so a heap of females and I can't picture Donald Trump with anything less!
Since Apple will ship something that has actual style (_if_ they ship a gold phone), I can't see Donald Trump buying one.
I am sure Apple will pull this off and it will look nice. However, this will attract the kind of users that will keep talking about their great looking phone but don't know how to install any apps...
From my anecdotal evidence yesterday it looks like this definitely could be a hit with females and young people. I guess I need to study up on my fashion.
As others have said I hope it is more of a muted champagne color. I'll reserve judgement until I see it.
Saw a champagne Prius the other day, looked very nice!
That puts you into a tiny minority then![]()
Smart move by apple I think
Certain celebs will love this - they will be photographed using it, it will stand out and their psychotic fans and followers will also latch onto it.
I personally think its a bit brash but I can see some personality profiles loving this.
It is a well known fact all celebs use Android!....![]()
Correct, it is just a phone. But were talking about Apple, who charge like a bull for their gear, and not only that its not the best phone out there! I think we're all used to every release just doing enough for another 12 months. This one will be the same.
A new level of tackiness for the iPhone. Gold, seriously?
What are they thinking?
Samsung certainly pays a lot more for marketing, so if someone is paid to use a phone, you can be certain it will be a Samsung phone. Those "celebs" carrying an iPhone paid for it out of their own pocket.
Looks like military flat dark earth.
It's just a phone man.
I really don't like it. Neither Jony or Steve would/should approve of this.
