I got a 7 Plus this morning and if I put about 80 ~ 100 grams of pressure on diagonally opposite corners I will hear a light click that appears to either originate from a corner or the centre of the screen.

Mine does the same thing #twistgate (bet no one saw this gate coming!) :)

I wouldn't worry about it.

Hey guys,

I'm still waiting for my iPhone plus to arrive, but a friend of mine got his already. And there is one thing that already annoys me. The iPhone 7plus makes a crackling noise if you move the bezels contrary. Here is the video of the friend, showing it:

Apple employee told at the genius bar that it was normal, since there is a brace inside.

So... Does your 7+ crackle?

So wait you forcefully twist your phone and it creeks?. Well let me make sure not to intentionally twist my phone.

This is dumb.
Erm, first of all: he didn't twist it FORCEFULLY. It was rather a soft and gentle twist. And secondly: iPhone 6plus DID NOT crackle or creek! He noticed that when he took the iPhone out of his case! So I can't see how it is dumb? There is another example of another friend where he noticed the crackle while the iPhone was lying on a desk and it was vibrating. So don't tell me that it's dumb...

Regular 7 doesn't crackle or creek.

As I already mentioned, only 7plus models are effected...

Mine does. I noticed it when I 3d touched the left edge to get to multitasking. I guess I kind of twist the phone to do it because it creeks on the lower right corner. I think it has something to do with the water resistance glue.

No. No you did not.

You stated that the iPhone 7+ did. So I figured I would mention that the regular 7 does not seem to do what you describe......... (I can do it too :) )

Erm, he's still twisting it, and who the hell holds a phone like he does trying to reproduce i, again i say, this is dumb, and apparently by other posts i'm not the only one.

I'm all for legit issues but if you have to hold the phone in a way you'd never hold it, twist it to hear it "crack" thats just the dumbest pile of ish ever....

guys my phone has a hole in it when i shot at it with my rifle, does any1 else's?

Nope. I shot mine with a 50 BMG (really big bullet for those who don't know) and my 7 plus deflected it and broke the bullet up like it was nothing. Not even a speck of dust on the screen let alone a hole or even scratch. You better take yours back to the Apple Store and cry until they give you free stuff.

Personally, I don't see anything wrong with someone testing some light limits with their phone - though I can't say that I would do it with mine.

On the durability tests that I did view, it seems as though the waterproofing seal might be a little gummy, and perhaps it is working as designed (and the slight moving is creating the clicking sound). I just wouldn't do it repeatedly because what might be happening is that the seal is being weakened by being stretched out a bit.

I would imagine these phones will be put through so many tests through normal use by owners, that if there is a real problem we will all know about it, without having to put any stress tests on our own phones.

Like I said, I wouldn't do this with my own phone, but I am glad this was posted, so that I can keep it in mind down the road, and see if I notice anything during normal usage.

My main question is wth would you even need to twist their phone? Glad if you have money to replace it. I do not. Smh.
