Not true. There are many websites that forfill their purpose and that's it. They feel no need to whore themselves out for millions of page hits every day.ftfy
Interesting question. I got my 4S on release day last year. According to my AT&T account online, I'm already eligible for a full subsidy upgrade. So, upgrade I shall.
You are wrong, Jobs has been reported to have been "DEEPLY" involved in this design. There is also only one speaker port on the bottom. The smaller one will be a mic. There are drilled holes because that is more symmetric than the current slits. If they stayed with slits, they wouldn't match. At least the size of the holes themselves are symmetric, just the amount isn't. Lesser of two evils when deciding to move the headphone jack to the bottom.
it is 1/2 inch longer than 3.5 inches. Does that help? Its thinner, but I still don't understand the 4" tall screen.
How do you figure that? It's pretty much the same phone but taller and a tiny bit thinner. Woopdedoo!
pretty much the same you say? i bet not one iota of it is the same.
it's you. The white shows the holes. They blend in on the black one.

A lot of people DON'T want a 4.5 inch or bigger screen. You do, but that doesn't mean you are the norm. I can't find one of my friends that are aching for a Samsung S3 sized phone. They all say the same thing. How am I going to fit that in my pocket? I am actually quite content with the size.
Once one is holding it in one's hand it will become what it is, the most beautiful phone in the world.
Question: Does anyone know of another unibody, metal mobile phone?
Off topic. Where is everyone going to pre-order at? Through carrier or online ?Camp it out? Apple store online and get it deliver to your door?
1) Get a dock with a headphone port on the bottom and built-in. You'll need a new one because of the new connector anyway.
2) It will be easier to access music controls, the slider and the end call button by only partially exposing the phone.
3) Why would you need headphones plugged in when it's in a car dock?![]()
I really hope Apple presents us something other than what has been leaked so far, because these things (incremental hardware update + updated design) are not really convincing enough for me. The competition looks a bit more interesting at the moment, not really the Samsung S3, but I think Nokia is doing remarkably well at the moment. It would have been my first iPhone to buy and I almost unconditionally planned to buy it, but I'll wait what the 12th of September shows us. I'm not wanting to be pessimistic, I have high hopes that we're going to be surprised.
Who leaves their headphones plugged in when they aren't using them?
docks have earphone plugs..
...I hope that Tim proves me wrong next week and convinces me that this is really a good idea, but at the moment I can't imagine it...
As someone who uses the headphones a lot for phone calls, not music, I tend to agree. I sometimes charge the phone in a dock while working but keep the headphones plugged in for phone calls. Same for in car use. (No, I don't use Bluetooth......)
Not a big deal I guess, just something to get used to.
And there can be no change after someone dies? Your arguments about the hole is exactly what Jobs would not have done.
Why the absolutism around here?
How do you figure that? It's pretty much the same phone but taller and a tiny bit thinner. Woopdedoo!
Those who don't plug them in and out 700 times in one day?
Is it me, or have there been more leaks and mockups for this iPhone than for any previous models in years past?
