Cloud-Focused iOS 5 to See WWDC Intro, Fall Release?

To offer hardware at the same time as WWDC mixes the message to developers and to the world at large -- unless, UNLESS it deals with something that developers need to know -- the iPhone 4 was announced during WWDC for one BIG REASON --> Retina Display.

This was a big deal. It meant that all iPhone apps' graphics would need to be adjusted in order to take advantage of the additional resolution in order to look great.

This needs to stay about the software. Perhaps a little later, iPhone 5 will be announced. Probably. I cannot see Apple not releasing a new iPhone this year. Thought would be crazy.

Uh... Not so much on the second part. The reason why the iPad wasn't updated to iOS 4 until this last fall was because it had been developed independently of the iOS 4 development and they needed extra time to reunify iOS. There is absolutely no reason for iOS 5 not to be released to all devices at once, unless they are intentionally holding it back, which gets into the whole Apple conspiracy area again...

While I can see reasons that iOS 5 might be delayed until Fall, I just don't see that it won't be released on all devices. As you said, sticking to common sense.

Similarly I do think an iPad 3 (or iPad 2 HD) could come out before Christmas, in fact releasing iPad in the fall makes much more sense to me than in the spring as they have been since they make better gifts than phones. I think Apple could release an iPad 2 HD right now in fact, but would have to sell it at a loss, so they are waiting until the competition gets closer to and then they'll roll it out to trounce them again.

Those trying to read between the lines with the notion that Steve deliberately coded a message into his presentation to indicate there would not be another iPad this year are delusional and unfamiliar with Apple. It's actually MORE likely that the presentation was structured to mislead people into believing there wasn't another iPad coming than the opposite.

I think you are correct. I do not have inside information, but I think that
Apple will need to answer Nvidia's Tegra 3 and Project Denver. The iPad 2 HD would still make 2011 "The year of iPad 2".

Cloud - as another option - obviously is a good thing. For those who like it this way. And Android once again is ahead here. Amazon today announced cloud based music service for Android. I wonder why they decided to exclude iOS devices?

I think Amazon are on a war footing now. I believe that a "tablet pc" made by amazon now is due very soon. Interest times ahead and this is what we want. Amazon imho is the only challenger to Apple we want 2 companies going toe to toe so they try and outdo each other.
