Coach is synonymous with high(er) end leather products. This does nothing but strengthen the reputation of the applewatch as a legitimate accessory.

At least they are not like the Hermes bands, which cost more than an  watch. $690 for a leather band. Are these from the Wagyu Kobi cows ?

Still wouldn't pay $150 for an  Watch band. For a Vacheron Constantan, yes.  Watch, no.

You could put it on your Willie.

Centuries of the watch...now it's useless because it has an apple logo on it? Ok

A century old watch is better for telling time. The friends I have with an Apple watch have repeatedly had to bring their arms up to even get it to display.

hopefully gen2 will make it useful

Indeed, I hope so too. I'm always interested in new gadgets that make my life easier but the Apple Watch so far is a fail.

Logical more high end brands jump on a bandwagon that is a cash cow.

There will be a timeline which will be possible to be drawn, from the time of Steve Jobs' death, to the death of Apple. We are witnessing it. Tim Cook is, I have no doubt, a great guy. But he is what he is. Much of what made Apple different is long gone by this point. For me, personally, the Apple watch, and the endless luxury watch bands, was the beginning of the end, and is, even now, somewhat nauseating. There is no more constantly evoked trope on this forum than the "when Steve was alive vs the now that Steve is gone" one, and I think that I can see each position. But I think that there is some merit to the persistent belief that were Steve still with us, Apple would be fundamentally different than it is today. Again, I am not trying to denigrate Tim Cook. But, to me, with Macs becoming seemingly an afterthought, and iPhone and the other iDevices becoming almost obnoxiously paramount, there is a fundamental change. I sound like a Luddite, I know. And maybe, were Steve still here, it would be as is; i.e. he would approve. But I for one do not think so. The Apple Watch, the Apple Car, good christ. People once wanted to make computers. Some were jerks, some were genius's. But they changed the world in a very fundamental way. For the better, for the most part, I think. What is happening now with maybe the most revolutionary, forward-thinking company in the world makes me sad. Feel free to rip me, that's fine.

It's you. Nah I'm kidding...your sophisticated taste is probably above and beyond what a company like Coach can offer.
You're implying that Coach has 'sophisticated' taste?

High-end 'fashion' is purely for the fools and vain (although they quite often are on in the same).

The only thing sophisticated about these 'top brands' is their marketing.

Basically Apple is screwed. Got it!

You must not use yours for exercise. I use mine extensively everyday.
I'd hoped to use my original SS Apple Watch for tracking my workouts, triathlons, cycling events and other competitions. However it's gross failure to record and report accurately sent me running back to my trusty SUUNTO setup.

Luckily I've enjoyed years of reliability and terrific experiences with my SUUNTO Sports Fitness Watches. My current Ambit 3 Peak puts AW to shame.

A century old watch isn't as good at fitness tracking, getting notifications or paying at stores for my goods. So...useless? Nah.

The way people think is interesting to me...you see it all the time whenever a product is marketed and it just happens to not fit them. You see it when the newish retina MacBook was announced. People called it useless too simply for the fact that it wasn't a good fit for them. Despite the fact that it can be a very good computer for a lot of people, some people feel because it's not for them personally, it's a terrible computer overall. How do people think like this? How do people take their own experience and generalize it to apply to everyone AND entire product lines? Like because someone doesn't like the Apple Watch, then it's entirely useless...not just to them, but EVERYONE.

I'm having a lot of fun with mine. I remember when the first iPhone was also useless. And then it got built upon over time and it is the product we know and love today
[doublepost=1461970996][/doublepost]
Useless because it accomplishes NOTHING that an iPhone cant already do which is required to be near the watch.

It's a gimmick, nothing more.
I can't actively track fitness with my iPhone the way I can with my Apple Watch. The entire experience with an Apple Watch is completely different. That's like saying an iPad is useless because it doesn't really do anything a laptop can't do. It replicates everything but on a more portable level. That's EXACTLY what the Apple Watch does. I'm able to be more passive with my watch and not have to look at my phone as much. Add on to that all the other crap it does and it's a fantastic product.

AND ITS ALSO A WATCH! I think we're holding a freaking watch to unrealistic standards here. If you're the type that didn't want to wear a watch to begin with, this isn't the product for you. If you're also the type whose fancy isn't tickled by the idea of notifications on your wrist, this product isn't for you. Why is it so hard to say "this product isn't for me, but I can see uses for it"? Wtf is so hard about that? I hate the game halo. I forced myself to like it and I just couldn't. Do I say it's a terrible game? No. It's just not for me.

They could absolutely redesign, and keep the band connectors the same. There is plenty of clearance around the connections for the watch itself to be thinner.

Yeah I'm aware the connectors are the same, but surely they wouldn't be bluster around new coach bands if they were going to have a redesign? This is to give some authenticity to a gap ridden portfolio.

Steve must be so proud of the Watch Bands legacy he's left behind.

Lolol

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ITS NOT A CHUFFING 'BAND' ITS A BL**DY WATCH STRAP. THATS ALL, DON'T GET EXCITED OVER A WATCH STRAP.

It's incomprehensible to me that people on this forum would mock design made for an Apple device.

Apple devices has ALWAYS been about design.

$150 is dirt cheap for a designer brand.

I don't get why everyone here is complaining.
