does having flash installed on mbp effect it as much as having flash on mba?

Use google chrome as a browser....

Type: chrome://plugins

go down to where it says flash and click [disable]

Browse the web with a fast browser and no flash ;)

Or use click to flash on safari.

I avoid firefox unless I'm using firebug.

I do this instead of not having flash on the system at all because there are times I want flash (certain youtube videos i watch etc)... so it works out.

My daily browser activity doesn't use flash so I just disable it under chrome://plugins

Pretty pleased with mine, wish the battery health was a little higher though, although it fluctuates between 91%-95% every few days.

My laptop is at:

age of mac is 6 weeks

loadcycles is 22

battery charge is at 85 percent

Battery capacity: current capacity is 5715 and at 80%

My laptop is only 6 weeks old! It is currently charging but why isn't mine around the high 90s or 100 percent like it should be? :(

It was reporting 101% a day or two back.

You both need to calibrate your batteries. Without calibration, your readings are likely inaccurate.

Apple Notebook Battery FAQ

So I've heard calibrating your battery will make readings more accurate.
What exactly does that mean? The readings reporting the battery health, or readings reporting the time remaining left on battery power?

I don't think those questions/answers were posted in the link you provided.

Anyways I'll just calibrate it later since it doesn't do anything to the amount of time I can use my computer on battery power.

From the FAQ link I posted:
Calibration does not affect your battery health, improve battery performance, or extend battery life. It does make battery condition reporting more accurate, so when your battery reports 97% health, it's more accurate.

Also from that link, quoted directly from Apple:
Calibrating your battery ensures you get the longest possible running time from it. Calibrate your battery during the first week you own it

Your battery life should go up for a while, and eventually start to decline.
I started at like 92%, got all the way up to 120%, and am now at 101% battery capacity.

101%, 111 cycles.

Have you calibrated? Those readings are inaccurate. Anything reported above 100% is obviously an error.
Not very happy with these results.
Why not? It looks fine.

It was a steady incline, like 20 mAh increase/decrease per cycle. I calibrated after I got a reading of 8000/6900, and I got a very similar reading afterwards.

Not true, a Genius told me in the week I got my Macbook that my 104% battery capacity (after calibrating) was normal... said I should expect it to sit just over 100% for a while.

Apple Notebook Battery FAQ

I did it 3 times since I've had the laptop.. (Black Friday). I already read that before I posted. I noticed there is a preference for coconut battery, is there anything I should change in there? Second, my max charge is 5723. I've seen people on here who have a higher number than that. Like I said, already calibrate the battery 3 times and again last night..:(

Okay, I have a question. If we leave the plug in at all times, would it count as a "loadcycle" or would it just be that it's plugged in so it wouldn't count at all? I hope I made sense.
I use my laptop all the time AT HOME, downstairs (main living area). Maybe I should just plug it in at all times and every once in awhile unplug it to get the battery running. Any suggestions?

ETA: NVM found my answer. I guess what happens is that it'll stops charging at 100 and automatically runs on battery.

Is there a chart with acceptable levels by age and cycles? I am at 96% capacity (5278 of 5450) after 14 months AND the max the battery will charge to is 98% which seems a little low (is calibrated); how bad is that?

Edit: found the coconut

Don't believe everything a Genius tells you. "Genius" is their job title, not an indication of their knowledge, intelligence or experience.

The most popular tools are iStat Pro, iStat Menus and coconutBattery. I prefer iStat Pro, but you can use any of them.

Different models have different battery capacities. The built-in batteries have a higher capacity than the removable batteries, for example.

No, it does stop charging at 100%, but it doesn't run on battery if you leave it plugged in. Read the FAQ link I posted for an explanation of what a cycle is, and read the AC Power section for proper use between AC and battery.

It's not bad. Read the FAQ for Battery Lifespan information.

I second this opinion. iStat Pro is amazing.

looks like the 13 mba and 15 mbp have almost the same mah. why do the 13 mba/mbp get so much better battery life than the 15, is it screen size or processor?

what kind of mah do you think the 2011 mbp 15 inch will have?
