Mine started off low, but then it varies. Basically have to let it calibrate.

I just noticed you have 11 battery cycles on your machine already so I went and checked mine on my 2018 MBP that I got almost exactly a year ago and it has 14.

Incredible you've only got 14 cycles on a year old machine. I got my 16" a week ago, have kept it basically plugged in the entire time and already have 5.

I don't keep my MBP 13" 2019 plugged all the time but I noticed that Charge Cycles count is increasing faster than actual 100% total battery use. It is currently around 90-95% per charge cycle, which is not how it is supposed to work. In the beginning it use to run even much more faster.

Another question: what is your battery life like? I am seeing a discharge of 30% in about 1 hour and 15 minutes, which would give me around 4 hours. I Have to say that I was steaming. I need to see what it's like during Word and safari only.

Apple lied. it's a 99.8Wh battery

Actual rating of 99.8 watt-hours for 16-inch MacBook Pro. The Apple TV app movie playback test measures battery life by playing back HD 1080p content with display brightness set to 12 clicks from bottom or 75%. The wireless web test measures battery life by wirelessly browsing 25 popular websites with display brightness set to 12 clicks from bottom or 75%. The standby test measures battery life by allowing a system, connected to a wireless network and signed in to an iCloud account, to enter standby mode with Safari and Mail applications launched and all system settings left at default. Battery life varies by use and configuration. See apple.com/batteries for more information.

The more memory you put in your laptop will affect your battery life. Apple tested (see above) with 8GB-16GB of memory. 32 and 64 GB of memory will consume a lot more battery life.

I got my MBP two days ago. wtf is this?

Mine is below the design capacity out of the box (i9 2.3/32GB/5500M 8GB/1TB), will keep an eye on that with more cycles.

My previous one (i9 2.3/16GB/5500M 4GB/1TB) has larger capacity than design, but I forget if it was like that out of the box...

What OSX version are you running? I have the 5500M 8GB too, but I still see this:

I'm on the newest macOS 10.15.1.

It might depends on whether the MBP is plugged in or not. But now I'm unable to see that 2-checkbox version even if I unplug my MBP... very weird...

The 2-checkbox is no longer an option in 10.15+ at least on new machines. You either enable automatic graphics switching, or disable to force the 5500M instead of Intel.

My Energy Saver menu looks exactly the same as the attachment in #40.

I'm right with you there :/ I hope this still gets corrected? Feels like I don't get heaps out of the battery... Who's your manufacturer?

Simplo it seems. The battery capacity has gone up, usually stays within 98-99% design capacity. In real life usage under light ot medium loads I am getting good battery life though and I have the 64 GB ram option.
