wow!

i saw that duke was winning BIG and went to bed. :(

I did too, but I knew in my heart that Texas A&M could put up some crazy numbers and lo and behold they did.

I'm looking forward to today's games - my wife has been patient with me with all the no-name bowl games this preceding week, but I'm sure she'll have her fill of football once the day is over

Congrats to MSU. Deserved Rose Bowl winners.

This loss is on David Shaw. Stanford was thoroughly out-schemed and out-executed after the first quarter, and those play calls on offense — absolutely baffling. It's like a rerun of the Fiesta Bowl against Oklahoma State, only worse.

Do the Bears even have a D to speak of? Seems to me the won their games with massive offense, keeping the other team off the ball, but when they get off-balance, not so much.

They didn't have any defense last night, great game, both UCF and Baylor really didn't show too much defensive muscle. I wasn't really rooting for either team but it was a fun game to watch.

Coming in as 17 point under-dogs and most predictions had UCF losing by even more, I'm thrilled at the outcome. The Baylor team was horribly undisciplined with 17 penalties for 135 yards.

As well as our offense played, a big kudos has to go out to our defense. After turnovers on three straight snaps, our defense only allowed 6 points. Baylor came in averaging 53.5 points/game and 624.5 yards/game and we held them to 42 points and 550 yards. Not stellar, but enough to win the game.

agreed.

Every time the Cardinal touched the ball you knew how it was going to end. And how many series did they start in the shadow of their own goalposts?

Biggest win ever for UCF.

GO KNIGHTS!!!!!!!!

they looked very good last night.

Geaux Tigers!

It was nice to see LSU finish with 10 wins for a record 4 seasons in a row, seeing how we lost 4 starters on defense to the NFL and a freshman quarterback (Jennings) that came in and helped win the last regular season game.

I hope OU will put the hurt on Bama tonight, and I would relish watching Saban blow his cool on the sidelines!

Edited to add:
there was a texter to a local radio show this morning that said "I hope no Alabama fan falls asleep at a restaurant".

The Oklahoma/Alabama game is an important battle for the belt.

(In 1972, Nebraska was awarded the mythical "championship belt", which they held until September, losing it immediately to the Bruins. Since then a number of teams have defended the "belt" by winning games, surrendering it to the first team they lose to. In '13, the Baylor
Bears carried the "belt" through most of the season before giving it up to the OkSU Cowboys, who immediately handed it over to the Sooners, who will try to keep it out of the Tide's hands tonight.)

Bowl-Droop Fever: Alabama are just disappointed not to be in the title game, so they feel like mailing it in. And imagine, if you got that close, and now your cross-state arch-rival is in there instead of you. They just have no motivation, not even enough to hang on to the #3 spot (which will probably go to MSU).

I don't think when you have teams of the caliber of OU and Bama that any outcome is an upset

I am glad bama lost though!

'Bama losing is always good.

What an upset.

I think it was too. OU has been really good oof and on the past 5 0r 6 seasons though so I guess it shouldn't come as to big a surprise.

The OU qb looked more like Heisman trophy candidate than McCarron (sp?).

So am I. Not because I don't like Alabama, but to shut up all the fans who think college football begins and ends with the SEC.

ha! I don't tout a single conference much either but after living here for so long, even I, a man who was sold on the BIG 10 being the best, had to concede that the SEC is currently the best. Oddly enough I also feel that announcers are afraid to disclaim them because southerners get their feeling hurt so easily. True story.

That said, I do feel as though there has been some catching up.

Not sure about the other conferences bowl records so far but the SEC is 5-2 with 3 teams left to play.

What an upset.

I didn't watch the entire game but from what I did see, I was so surprised at how successful Oklahoma was, particularly running - they were able to get the sideline and then make some serious yardage.

I'm not sure how the 2014 Alabama team will look like but they need to take a serious look at a number of areas.

The pregame show was all but giving the win to Alabama, nice to see the sooners coming out to play :D

One thing that I hated seeing during this bowl season was ESPN's stupid "power index" where they say Team A was going to beat Team B by x points. I don't think they got those predictions right at all and with a little luck we'll not see them scroll continually across the screen next year
