Did anyone else catch the series premier of Colony on USA this week?

Set in the near future, Colony centers on a family headed up by Holloway and Callies who must make difficult decisions as they balance staying together with trying to survive. They live in L.A., which has been occupied by a force of outside intruders. While some people have chosen to collaborate with the authorities and benefit from the new order, others have rebelled and suffer the consequences.

I just finished watching the pilot a few minutes ago. It stars two people I've seen in other shows, Sarah Wayne Callies from The Walking Dead and Peter Jacobson from House M.D.

It wasn't too bad of a first episode, and possibly a little better than the first episode of The Expanse. The DVR is set to record the series so I'll keep with it and see how it goes.

Caught it on demand earlier this week. It certainly has potential. There have been other shows like it, like V and Falling Skies and some others, but this kind of reminds me of Fear of the Walking Dead but with aliens instead of zombies and a little further into everything happening but before it gets to complete chaos (as it is in The Walking Dead) where everyone is out for themselves essentially. Certainly quite a bit of Nazi occupation references (in a sense) as well.

Saw the premier last month. Was very good. Looking forward to the rest of the series

I enjoyed the premier thoroughly. A little predictable so far though. There was no question that loving husband and wife had different political agendas. But I like the way we haven't seen the invaders yet.

Have this set to record, hopefully a repeat broadcast will catch the beginning or it's on demand. Is the setting post USA?

They've made that totally unclear. What we've seen takes place in California, with all the cities we currently know. But we don't know when.

Found Episode 1 on demand, watched it, and liked it. Plus there is Sawyer and Lori Grimes, thumbs up on likeable characters. :) This sums it up:

I agree with the reviewer that it's a neat trick to keep the viewer in the dark, but feed them enough to keep them coming back for more. However, I found this statement to be very revealing (paraphrased):

"You have no problem screwing over your own kind", along with advanced technology, and references to our hosts.
:D

It's hanging in there, it's ok, not great. Things got complicated in the last episode for the Bowmans, but then got corrected. :) Was surprised to find Carl Withers in the credits as Will Bowman's police partner. I did not recognize him before seeing his name.

Heh, I watched the pilot episode, started this thread and never watched anymore of it.
But I'm watching episode 2 right now from the DVR.

I relate to your feelings regarding The Expanse. The book is better.

I'm a couple episodes behind with Colony, but I just watched Episode 5 and the tension between Will and Katie is keeping this interesting. It just dawned on there is a direct parallel between this show and the game Half Life 2, an alien invaded Earth with a human city administrator. :)

I just finished watching this weeks episode a few minutes ago and it's still pretty good. They're doing well at keeping the tension and drama up.

Caught up now- The last two episodes dragged a bit- the bar episode, and Katie's standing with the resistance, important elements of the story, but a lot of talk, talk, dialog filler. The dynamic of the two of them working at cross purposes without some significant blow back is feeling stretched and unworkable for the resistance. Surprised they have not killed her (in the Walking Dead, they did ;)) and can't believe her character is not smart enough to keep her eye on the ball by pushing Proxy Snyder around. ;)

I'm loving this show. The plot is moving along strongly. We've finally gotten to a good point with character development, so they can put less focus on that and more on the action.
