Sorry, I have been purchasing Apple Silicone cases since they have been release and haven't had an issue. A couple of years ago I tried a cheap Amazon case. Thing was pealing in less than a month.

Yes, Apple cases are expensive when compared to cheap Amazon cases, but they quality is no way near that of Apples, at least in my experience.
Sorry but that is just not the case anymore, pun intended. Apple's original silicone cases were very good quality, in the last 5 years they've become utter **** that peel and crack in under a year.

With the latest camera control leak about removing the touch/capacitive feature these cases might be the real deal.

The corners should not be fabric; should be plastic. Forcing the fabric over the corners required spreading them out, lowering abrasion resistance. Also, the tensions will be weird, possibly leading to faster peeling from the corners out.

Silicone is perfect for grippy. Making non-grippy but abrasion resistant while being eco-friendly is not easy. Maybe a stone-dust impregnated aerated plant-plastic. That would probably work and look/feel premium while supporting colors (structural color)

These have to be a fake and not the real thing. They look awful and still going with that type of material is a terrible choice. There has to be another way to get a leather-like material without being real leather

I can see these being real, and I must admit I'd be tempted if I were due for an iPhone upgrade.

They remind me of Samsung's Kvadrat cases, which used an "upcycled" textile. Not as nice as leather, but posher than silicone and better at surviving contact with the real world.

Leather was also garbage, very flimsy and it collects oils and dirt. That old leather look everyone loves is actually just the build-up of oils and dirt.
The leather on my 8 plus was fantastic and I still use it to this day. Conversely , the leather on my 12 pm I ultimately traded in for a 14pm, was thin and crappy.

These cases look decent. They look very grippy which will be nice. I may buy one just to try it out and see if I like it. I’ve always preferred the silicone apple cases so regardless of if these cases will be good, I’ll probably end up going with the silicone cases.

Sorry, I haven't had any issue with an Apple Silicone case in the last five years or ever for that matter. No cracking or peeling.

You want to buy the $5 Amazon case, go for it.

Yeah I really don't care what your anecdotal experience is. It is not representative of what most people have experienced with Apple' silicone cases over the last few years.

Never had good luck with Apple cases when it came to longevity. My partner and I were lucky to get 2-3 months out of our Apple Cases (silicon or leather) before they'd crack, chip, shine from usage, etc - for the price that was pretty atrocious.

Did get the Woven cases with our iPhone 15 Pro Maxes 2 years ago - they ... didn't last at all. These don't look like they'll handle stains/wear well either. Maybe just me but these cases (article) don't look good...

So now we have Caudabe Sheath cases and they're really good - and they've ... lasted years. They handle disinfectant wipes like a pro and work. I do have a DBrand Grip Case and WOW - that thing just feels amazing and solid in the hand so I alternate between the Caudabe and DBrand case (my favorite case). Both these cases have handled years of flights, drops, heavy usage without any visible wear/issues.

Apple is designing new "TechWoven" cases for the iPhone 17, with photos of some of the alleged case colors shared today by leaker Majin Bu.

The cases feature a muted, fabric design in colors that appear to include black, blue, green, purple, and orange. The TechWoven cases will reportedly replace the fabric-like FineWoven casesthat Apple discontinued with the iPhone 16 launch. The FineWoven cases were not popular with customers due to their penchant for staining and issues with durability. The fabric of the TechWoven case has supposedly been "redesigned for greater durability."

Majin Bu claims that the cases will include metallic buttons with "improved tactile feedback," a Camera Control button, MagSafe compatibility, and two small holes at the bottom for attaching a crossbody strap or accessories. The cases appear to be for the iPhone 17 Pro models that are rumored to have a horizontal camera bar given the size of the camera cutout, but Bu says the TechWoven cases will be available for all of the iPhone 17 models.

It is unclear as of yet if these cases are real, but we will find out in less than a month when Apple unveils the new iPhone 17 models.

They look nice but they will, of course, be way more expensive than they need to be. And, they look like they would be slick in the hand though it’s hard to say without touching.

The cutout for Camera Control and the bit of (what looks like) damage on the blue case says enough for me

I also still don’t understand why the Apple logo is in different places on the case and phone, it’s not something serious but it’s just pretty odd
The logo position difference does seem odd. Makes one wonder if this is wrong or the position on the phone is wrong. And the cutout for the camera button is a no-go. I had a case like that for my 16. No bueno.

Timmy is a master to save on quality and still raising prices for customers 😮‍💨

The buttons are not even straight! Bring back the leather case and kill this with fire!

Too funny. I could careless what your anecdotal experience has been...as it isn't representative of most people experience has been with Apple Silicone cases. I hate to break it to you, the people who come to this board to complain about Apple Silicone cases are in the minority of Apple customers.

Have a good one!

Apple should bring back leather. Offset the cow's fart by planting a tree.
The cows are already being killed because people eat them. Refusing to use the resultant by-product (leather) is just Apple virtue signaling and being too woke for their own good. Carbon neutrality is a stupid fantasia by the people who have been pushing the idea of overpopulation when birth rates for most developed countries are below replacement rates. I usually cut Tim some slack because while he has no vision or taste his reign has been very successful but it’s time to bring meritocracy and the best of the best back to Apple. If that costs more so be it, I’d rather pay more for best of class products.
