For me? Very lightly salted, little or no butter. I prefer the smaller-popping gourmet kernels over the large tasteless ones.

oil, margarine, or butter. possibly toxic.

salted, though not too heavily

when i was vegan i found that the safeway brand here in the US has a pretty good butterless (using oil instead) microwave popcorn, so that's what i eat most of the time.

my dad is the popcorn king, though he is a bit heavy on the butter at times. he uses the stovetop kettle with kernels, then melts some butter and some margarine to mix in, and salts it. tasty.

I've never done this, but I know someone who has and swears by it (*cough*wife*cough*)... M&M's and popcorn. When she breaks that out, I usually stare at her for a few seconds, then fake barf in her direction.

She's also broken hershey bars over popcorn...

I mean, whatever floats your boat... but UGH!

I'll take my popcorn with a little melted butter and salt, thank you very much. :)

Candy and popcorn go back a long way.

Cracker Jacks, for example, included peanuts and caramel popcorn.

Boy Scouts sell cheese popcorn, chocolate popcorn, caramel popcorn.

I think it's the whole sweet-salty combination that people really like - such as chocolate covered pretzels.

I can understand caramel popcorn. I can understand cheese popcorn. But M&M's? I've even seen her eat her popcorn with Skittles... Skittles!!!

Eh... not my thing. Caramel popcorn, maybe once a year. But kettle corn... :p I'm a sucker for kettle corn. It's so addictive! You get a hot fresh batch from the farmer's market and say to yourself, "Only a nibble." And before you know it... wait, okay, only a nibble is gone. But it's a whole different story while watching tv/movie. If it gets too intense, I lose track of how much kettle corn I've devoured.

M&M's doesn't seem so bad.

Skittles, though?! Wow, that's pretty bad. Skittles aren't all the great by themselves, let alone mixed with popcorn.

Then again, I'm sure we all have our "weird" eating combinations. Anyone care to share?

My wife puts ketchup on turkey sandwiches, which I think is disgusting.

I put mustard on sloppy joe sandwiches, which she thinks is odd.

Wow I really do <3 you. A sandwich is just not a sandwich w/out mustard!

Strange combos... um, French fries w/ fro-yo?

Not necessarily together but I have been known to eat one right after the other-- pizza, ravioli, kim chee, and ice cream. :p That's been breakfast a couple of times.

Please, the PM's were embarrassing enough!

;) :p

Fries and frozen yogurt at different times isn't such a big deal. Now, if you dipped the fries in the yogurt...

My daughter dips suckers in milk.

If we're talking really old school comfort food, I'd have to say lightly toasted bread spread with sweetened condensed milk. Lacero says... Oh yeah! Woof Woof.

No I do dip the fries in the fro-yo... a la McD's. Give it a try, pretty tasty. By 'suckers' you mean, lollipop right? Eh... I don't do milk unless it's nonfat and in my coffee. :p

Nathans Hot Dogs (or some other good hot dog...not the cheap $.99 grocery store variety), spicy mustard, sauerkraut. A hot dog is not a hot dog without kraut. Maybe a little pickle, some hot peppers on the side, mmmmmm...that's good eatin'.

My son is half heartedly selling popcorn. Or actually my wife is half heartedly selling it for him. He'll be 18 before summer camp so there isn't much point in it.

On the kettle corn, one of the options is an 18 pack of microwave kettle corn. I have one for lunch about once a week.

I tried making kettle corn but ended up with some kettle corn, some carmel corn and some charred mass of unpopped kernels and sugar. Maybe waiting longer before adding the sugar...

I don't trust those types... I don't mind waiting until Saturday/Sunday for the Farmer's Market simply because I only get a craving for kettle corn maybe twice a year. :p

Roscoe's Chicken and waffles :D or buttermilk pancakes with syrup or home made mash potatoes.

You should be. What would Mama say?

God, I love genuine Italian food -- I have a very good friend from Naples that makes the most amazing dish with layers of deep-fried aubergine, parma ham, mozzaralla and all sorts of things in it.

Incredible.

Hahaha I am from napoles, I grew up with the smell of fresh provolone and and rague. God, my grandma lives with us and she is the most napolitan old lady you have ever seen, she makes her own pasta and cheese and I love it but when I'm feeling down nothing sooths me like a big plate of checken and waffles.
