Maybe that’s why they shouldn’t be putting any longer only 3 or 4GB of RAM on their phones???

Do you guys have background app refresh on? Also is safari still in your app switcher or you fully swipe it out

Why have 4gb of ram in your Pro iPhone when you can enjoy a software bottlenecked 6 plus like experience ?

Oh people blaming it just being 4gb! How rich! My 3gb xr is humming along on iOS 12 just fine holding onto what apps and tabs are open so throwing more hardware at the problem isn’t the solution

It's definitely happening... and it's really bad - gone worse in recent iOS 13.2

I've encountered this problem so many times - when app-switching and coming back - to see the app, news app /video, Facebook, browser pages - refreshed...
It's absolutely annoying - and couple of times, I lost work - as the app refreshed

Poor-Poor memory management.

This may explain why my third-party keyboard keeps acting up and resetting. I'm using Messagease. Since the upgrade to iOS13 on my iPhone 7, the phone keeps reverting to the standard keyboard or resetting the Messagease keyboard to wacko settings. I'm guessing Messagease uses a lazy method of storing its status or something like that and that it acts up when it always gets killed. I hadn't noticed anything on my iPad Pro yet, but I don't use Messagease there because of the larger screen.

Frankly, with Android it was a blessing to just switch apps and let a heavy web page load in the background on a bad 4G connection. I've used pre-multitasking computers a long time ago and I'm not so happy of being confronted with one again, particularly if it has hardware that "beats 90% of the laptops".

While this does look worse than usual I would say that Apple started pushing this direction around iOS 9 or 10.

I have enchanted things like these stories a lot over the past few years. It's absolutely not new. I guess it finally passed a threshold where more people started to notice?

Makes me think it's not a bug but rather Apple slowly turning up the heat for the past 3 years trying to find the level at which people would complain.

I've noticed this too since the 13.2 betas, but the Bluetooth disconnecting issue bothered me more than the memory management issue. Apple should've had 6Gb of RAM on the pro models.
Perhaps, we are all holding it wrong? /s

Purely anecdotal but I have been experiencing this on my iPhone 6S too a lot more recently. Thought it was just me.

I would assume this is two things- RAM Management in iOS/iPadOS, and also the app. This was never an issue before in iOS12 for me. Using the Mail App, Safari, and a number of other 1st and 3rd party apps.. The Amazon App has always done this, though. Switch to another app, switch back to the Amazon App, and it refreshes.. I think that's just their app. BUT, now in 13.2, I'm seeing this across the board for all apps.

HOPEFULLY Apple fixes the RAM Management issues, and then maybe at that point 3rd party app devs can update their apps to accommodate.. That's my 2 cents.

Since IpadOS 13.2 on my 12.9 3rd gen Ipad pro, don't see much touch stuttering. I wonder if it had to do with this issue.

I'm always very leery about these upgrades. Conventional wisdom is that every upgrade is guaranteed to be a positive-sum-game. Not necessarily! In my case, I've found that right after upgrading some of my 3rd party Lightning cables are deemed to be non-compliant...as though the upgrade was really just to sniff out those cables so you'll abandon them.

Same on my Xs Max and I HATE it. I copy something from let’s say notes to put it into a text field on Safari only for the freaking browser to reload and the previously prepared text to be gone

I don’t think that’s the problem. It only happened when they upgraded to iOS 13. My iPhone 6S can keep more apps running in the background than my iPhone 11 Pro or a 6GB RAM iPad Pro

It’s a bug

Facebook was doing this to me in ios12 on my iPad. I chalk it up to a crappy “app” for the 12.9”

I haven't noticed much of this happening, I’ve lost my tabs just once. I did split all of them into groups now - I wish I could name them.

but Ugh.
