am i the only one who would rather have the phone "naked" b.c I like the way it looks w/o a case? For an extra $100 at purchase you just get applecare+ and have peace of mind :)

iphone 4 in immaculate condition. Case and screen protector since new. Still very happy with it so can't see me upgrading to the 5.

I bought my 4S not long after it was released, and it's in near mint condition. 99% of the time it's in an Otterbox Defender case -- the other 1% is when I have to switch SIMs. (Why switch SIMs? Because I'm from the US, and I'm in Korea for the summer.)

Mine is near mint. I keep it near hermetically sealed in a lifeproof case.

I say near mint because there is a tiny imperfection around the camera caused by (ironically enough) my old otterbox commuter case. Dirt/grit got under the case.

I got the 4 the day the white models came out and it looks like pulled it out of the box. I switch between a bumper & a Mophie juice pack air regularly. I also have not been deluded into believing that I need a screen protector on a scratch proof display. ^^

After spending about $100 on cases and skins, I wish I had bought Applecare + and skipped the cases and skins.

I love the way the naked 4S feels and looks, so I am going w/o case now. No scratches so far. I never sell my equipment, just use it till it is worn out, so I don't care about resale value.

My iPhone 4 has seen better days. The bottom-right corner is bent in from when I dropped it out the window onto concrete two floors below.
The back is a bit scratched from grit getting between the case and the back plate.
The home button takes a fair push to work.
The power button is no longer springy and needs to be pushed hard to work.
I replaced the screen with one from eBay after I severed the digitiser lead attempting to fix the power button. The screen doesn't seem 100% authentic, having a raised edge and slightly washed-out colours. But it was cheap enough and brought my phone back to life.

Besides those things, the iPhone still works well and I hope to keep using it for a long time to come.

Hey, if the Kardashians can mishandle their iPhones (as seem, multiple times on their reality show) and keep them looking pristine, we here have no excuse!

I have a 4 that I've had for just over two year now with no case or screen protector on it. The back is scratched really bad. The front has a few small scratches but they aren't noticeable when the screen is on and there is one small chip in the glass on the side. I've dropped it multiple times face down on concrete without a case (just from sitting it in my lap in the car then forgetting it's there when I get out) and it's never cracked.

I still refuse to put a case on it. I can't stand the thickness it adds even if it's miniscule. I also think the glass feels 10x better than screen protectors.

4s in good condition. Iv noticed lots of tiny scratches in certain light. Is that the coating?

This. The $80 I paid for my LifeProof case will definitely pay off in resale value when I can list a mint condition 4S for sale, years after I bought it.

I only have a bumper on my 4 I used to run it naked. Bought at Best Buy and I have the black tie protection plan so I don't really worry to much. I mean don't get me wrong I take really good care of my phone. Also I have replaced the back with an after market back plate so if that was to get bamaged I could replace it or put my prefect condition back plate back on.

Perfect condition!! Bumper front and back cover.

Must cause it's for sale the day I get word from Apple's conference of new device.

My iPhone hangs out nude, and she's in pretty good shape. Fell on concrete once and got a pretty nice nick in two of the corners. Screen is perfect except for one tiny nick you can only see with a magnifying lens pretty much.

Other than that, she's still some nice eye candy. Ooh la la.

Naked since launch, perfect condition (on my 3rd via warranty though due to home button fail)...except the home button which is AGAIN useless, forcing me to jailbreak for the utter joy (seriously!) that is Zephyr & Switchy. Wish wish wish Apple would make Zephyr style multitasking default in iOS6.

Oh, and sort out the home button please. Every single 4 and 4S owner I know has the same issue, weird how some people on here deny it's a problem. The speed with which my local Apple store happily gave me a new phone every time speaks volumes.

did either of you get a tiny mark on the silver antenna band from taking the bumper on & off? i have, it could be from a different case, but i think it's the bumper.

-i have a 4S since launch day, and sometimes i have it naked, and sometimes i switch cases, it's in a case now. it's in near mint condition.
one time i dropped it when i didn't realize it was in my lap when i got out of my car, luckily i had a bumper on it.

i 'examined' it the other day and noticed a tiny scratch beside the :apple: on the back. maybe it came from setting it on a table when it was naked. it's white, so not noticeable at all.

no screen protector or back protector. i'm pretty careful w/my apple devices and i have a 5 year old:D

I have a day one iPhone 4. It has some scratches on the front glass due to some keys but it doesn't bother me.

I bought a 4s on launch day. Since then I dropped it off a desk and smashed the back glass. The apple store replaced the glass for a quite reasonable £25. I bought a case then (an InCase birds nest). That didn't stop me getting some small scratches on the front glass. My 3GS looked in better condition when it was two years old!

My new iPad has a fresh dent in one corner too, after falling off a bench. I really ought to get a case for it, but I don't like making thin things fat!

I thought Apple in the UK dont replace the glass, if its accidentally damaged, and ask you to pay around £140 for a refurb replacement phone? Unless they changed the policy.

Flawless launch day white 4S. Not a scratch on it and I rarely use a case. It does get its own pocket though and I'm very careful with my gadgets.
