I qualify for the 'last legs' option...

iPhone 4 since launch, home button died not long after warranty expired, so I've been using assistive touch since..

I also dislike cases, so it's spent its life naked, except I added a skin to it sometime around christmas (was a gift) . . . and that actually ended up holding the back together after a drop that finally shattered the back, and eventually tore a chunk of glass off the edge.

My front is also cracked ... but not too badly.

All things considered, the cracks are well deserved ... I can't tell you how many times I've dropped this thing onto a driveway or hard floor thinking 'that's the end'. If only I liked cases more... I just feel it defeats the purpose of having an amazingly thin and smooth phone, to cover it and add thickness.

I thought Apple in the UK dont replace the glass, if its accidentally damaged, and ask you to pay around £140 for a refurb replacement phone? Unless they changed the policy.

The back glass is just a simple sheet, they changed it in five minutes. The front glass is bonded to the screen, which makes it much more complicated to change. Not having broken the front glass (yet) I'm not sure what the policy is.

We have a 4 and 4S. Both look brand new. The 4 is starting to have home button issues. It won't register a press about 1/10 of the time. We decided it wasn't worth $150 replacement as we will be likely be upgrading both phones to the next iPhone, assuming we like what we see. If not, the 4 will be upgraded to a 4S at the very least.

If it's anything like the US policy, you basically pay to have the phone replaced ($200 for the newest model, $150 for earlier models)

The bumper left some scratches and blemishes on the antenna band, which is the only cosmetic "damage" the phone has. I've been using it naked for a few weeks now though, and dropped it on concrete yesterday but no damage from that :D

This thread needs more pics.

I go naked. Dunno know if a case would have saved it.

My iPhone4 still looks pretty new. Has been in a case since day one. Has been dropped a couple of times but the case prevented and damage whatsoever. The Home button seems to be a bit less responsive. I guess that's to be expected after two years usage. Still holding out for the next iPhone.

have had the Verizon iPhone 4 since it became available...pretty good condition..I always keep it in a case and have been using the mophie juice air since Halloween and my phone still looks beautiful(the case not so much)

I work in a warehouse and one day a colleague decided to nudge me whilst using my iPhone 4 which resulted in a slight chip on the bottom left hand corner when it hit the concrete floor, but apart from that everything else was in good condition. I say was because a pickpocket recently thought it was also in a good enough condition to take for themselves ! :(

Now I have an iPhone 4s which is a week old which I'm not gonna tempt fate by talking about ! Lol.

Mine has alot of little scratches all over. im using a super thin protector which has alot of battle scars and its been splashed alot. Still works great though. I stopped caring about condition when i realised resale condition wasn't effected. In the UK you can sell a 4s in used condition for £250-£300 to a webuyanymobile type company.

My 4 and 4S are in Mint

Wife's 4 is Mint

Son just got a 4S but his previous 4 is mint

We all use cases and clean them regularly, also well taken care of by me :)

My wife has the otterbox bec she is rough on her gear, but both my son and I use ours daily but take really good care of them.

I've barely had my iPhone 4S for a week and it's already fallen twice while naked, but both times onto a carpeted floor. My furniture must not be level because both times it was sitting flat on a side table next to my comfy chair. No scratches yet!

I have had my Verizon iPhone 4 since launch and it is nearly in perfect condition. I have kept various cases on it since getting it. With 3 little girls at home and always playing on it I am surprised that it is still in great condition.

I've had my iPhone 4 since launch and the only problem I've had with it is a crack on the front glass. It's shaped like a shepherd's crook coming up from the home button. The phone has never been dropped, so I'm not quite sure how that happened. I did have a problem with the home button not working all the time, but fixed that with a restore (as a new iPhone). Pretty happy with the build quality. I expected a glass phone to be a magnet for scratches and nicks, but with the exception of the above crack, it's been great.

Ok my iPhone 4 on Verizon is really starting to go downhill. Home button stopped working about 6 months ago (1 out of 20 clicks on a normal basis), battery life is dwindling (3 hrs of usage, 9 hrs of standby), and several apps randomly crash. Maybe I'm just complaining and wanting an excuse for the new iPhone but I'm more ready than ever to get my hands on it in hopefully a month or so!

i have a 4S thats 6 months old by now

it only has a couple of TINY scratches on that metal band just above and below the dock connector.

otherwise mint condition. i dont use a cover btw

iPhone 4.
No scratches.
Used the bumper initially.
Switched to Otterbox case, no screen protector.

A couple of hardware problems: the home button doesn't respond very well, even after been cleaned by the Genius Bar, and the cable connector doesn't work with an accessory I have even it charges fine and syncs with iTunes and I can get the pictures out of it.
So that been said, Apple wants $149 to replace it as they don't want to do the labor for these two parts.
This weekend I am planning on having fun replacing the defective parts.

4s here. I have screen protectors on both the front and the back, and I occasionally put on my otterbox defender on there. But I really like using it without the case, just because I love typing on it naked than with the case. Having said that, I'm not sure if the scratches that I have are on the phone or on the screen protector. I'm praying that it's on the protector whenever I end up replacing it

4S in like new condition. But like many before me, I plan on keeping it since I don't plan on getting the new iPhone.
