They can order all they like... I won't be buying one!

Thanks!

How's that on the planet earth though upgrading each year? Hope Apple is recycling them. :)

You got it down dude. Apple doesn't sell enough they are doomed, sell too many and they are killing the planet.

PH.D. In Apple Doom

Says someone who has no idea what the final product will be and would rather just troll the forums.

Judging by their direction the last few years it doesn't take a rocket scientist to work it out... I would go in to much more detail but it's all been said before and frankly I can't be bothered! I've spent many hours wasting my breath to this effect providing constructive opinions and a loyal customers views on one of there favourite companies and how they can improve their direction, as have tens of thousands of customers that feel the same way. But Apple never hear us, they don't want to!

I'm far from a troll so stop being rude and insulting. It's not big and it's not clever... And, it's not nice.

Could be a mix of the PR department and economist working at Apple trying to fabricate excitement. For what I do with my iPhone 6s, Apple better come with something like free money maker for you or free data plans.

I think the shock of market saturation is just not reaching some people at the company. Apple, if you want to get people to upgrade, and I mean really upgrade from a more than good enough 6s and iPhone 6 (2014), you would need to do this:

- Equal features and functions between iPhone 7 and 7 Plus - no compromise, so OIS, Dual Camera, memory, A CPU.
- 64 GB storage on cheapest model
- Price drop of $100
- 15 GBs of iCloud storage for free
- 3 months of free Apple Music
- Half off on a new bumper
- Trade in deal for iPhone 6s, so I could send in my 6s 64 GB and get half on a iPhone 7 64 GB
- Keep the head phone jack - you need it especially when you are in a library or doctors office
- Expanded use of 3D Touch, then again, this should not be limited to iPhone 7

Thanks Dee, we are on it!.

Tim

PS: Thanks for the tips, we were wondering what to do

iPhone 7 will be interesting to see what it brings to the table. Hopefully something the user can ultimately decide it's worth investing in or waiting until the iPhone 8.

Analysts keep forgetting about the iPhone Upgrade Program. Since signing up, I am a guaranteed upgrade every year and with this being the first new phone since its inception, demand will be very high. Why not take the newest phone when my monthly charge will remain identical and the only difference in cost to me is a one time charge of tax on the phone?

Yeah it's a no brainer if you enjoy using the latest and greatest. You also get AppleCare plus included in the price which is nice.

Directly contradicting a previous claim of projected weak demand for the iPhone 7, Apple has reportedly asked its Asian suppliers to prepare for the highest iPhone production target in "about two years", according to Barron's Asia.

Citing a story in the Taiwanese Economic Daily Times this morning, the financial news publication said Apple has requested between 72-78 million units of the new iPhone, which is much higher than the 65 million handsets that Wall Street analysts previously predicted.

Supply chain sources claim that Foxconn will remain the key manufacturer for Apple's next-gen handset, while competing contractor Pegatron will also be involved in the assembly process. Additionally, it is claimed that both companies are expected to get more market share this year, as they participate in dual camera and glass casing components production in addition to being assemblers.

The glass reference contradicts recent reports by iPhone casing supplier Catcher Technology and KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, both of which claim that Apple is planning to use glass for the casing of the 2017 iPhone, in order to differentiate it from aluminum-bodied smartphones on the market.

Earlier this month it was reported that Apple would rely on multiple manufacturing partners to assemble the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus to aim for a smooth launch in September, with Foxconn, Pegatron, and Wistron at the center of the assembly process.

Rumors suggest the iPhone 7 could retain a 6s-like design with a faster TSMC-built A10 chip, slightly larger battery, waterproofing and dustproofing, repositioned antenna bands, no headphone jack, faster Intel LTE chips, and more. Meanwhile, the larger iPhone 7 Plus (or Pro) could have a Smart Connector, dual-lens camera, and 3GB of RAM.

Other rumors surrounding the next-generation smartphones have included a flush camera, touch-sensitive home button, stereo speakers, and wireless charging, but it remains possible that Apple dropped some of those features or chose to include them on the OLED-based iPhone with glass casing rumored to launch in 2017.

The excess order is probably good publicity, they will sell eventually but not as fast as usual. The one camera lense on the 4.7 is extremely disappointing. Samsung must be high-fiving each other

I would say the 4s to 5 leap was not that great. I think it's fair to say the 4 body design was used for four years
They're rather distinctive—not anything close to the small rumored changes this time. And the bump in screen size was nice. My two favorite iPhones ever, except the original for sentimental reasons, are the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 6s. I've owned every model except the 5s because the iPhone 5 was that good. The iPhone 5 with iOS 6 was a fantastic pairing, and I'd say the 6s with iOS 9 is nearly as good and getting to be pretty rock solid. I'd probably do the same and keep the 6s if I wasn't on the iPhone upgrade plan.

I think the iPhone 4/4s is one of the most attractive designs they've made, but not super practical with a back that cracked easily and some antenna issues on the 4. I'm hoping the iPhone 8 or whatever people want to call the 2017 iPhone will be an evolution of that design: Shatter resistant sapphire laminated glass with a rounded steel band around the outside in a number of striking colors forming a waterproof seal, combined with Touch ID in the bezel-free @3X retina display itself, wireless charging, 4GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and an OIS dual-camera system with laser autofocus in both sizes. I don't even care if it's faster. Phones are already so fast it's ridiculous.

Good thing for you that they made a huge deal out of Liam recently.
Lisa's recent talk was interesting. However that is a piece of fancy marketing you are referring to. The best deal for the planet is to reduce, reuse and then recycle.

Eh, you're paying for AppleCare though. 24 monthly payments total more than the cost of just the phone. Also, people keep suggesting you can upgrade after one year and it only costs you tax on the phone. What actually happens is they let you terminate your initial lease after 12 months if you return your phone and then start a new lease on a new phone. It adds another 12 months of payments. It's still cheaper to buy the phone outright and then sell it private party after a year when you want to upgrade to the new model than it is to use Apple's upgrade program.

The program is reasonably priced though and it certainly simplifies the process. I'm not saying it's a bad idea, but it's not a no-brainer either.

So you're underwhelmed by rumors? Cool.

These 'rumours' usually turn out of be true. We've seen leaked parts and that's about as much proof as you need. Apple are getting lazy, it's just a fact. They need to release something new or risk lower sales figures (note I didn't say low sales figures). Tim Cook is playing the company too safe, they need to take risks and actually innovate again. I hate myself for saying it, but what Samsung are doing right now is far better than the trash Apple keep releasing. This is coming from a true Apple fan boy...I'm beginning to become fed up is all.

AppleCare is included in the prorated payments is what I meant.

You're right, selling is another option which I used to do but the returns just don't make it worthwhile for me to go through the hassle every year.

Rumors are just all over the place this year. I'm willing to bet Apple is doing this on purpose to throw us all off.
Seems smart, if they can't contain leaks, might as well flood it with misdirection.

And it actually works out to about the same price when factoring applecare

If the rumor is true, then my guess is that Cook intends to do what he often does -- force feed the inventory channel so he can record high sales in the first month. Never mind that most of the sales are shipments to retailers to put in stock, not to end users... and that's okay, since they'll eventually get sold that way.

Of course, the following quarter will bring the corresponding backlash of far fewer orders, but everyone's already used to Apple's sawtooth quarterly sales, and most won't think anything of it.

All that matters is the publicity that he knows will stick around from the first sales figures. He's really good at this kind of thing.

Holy shiitake mushrooms! Another rumor about iPhone 7! That awkward camera placement. Can't get it evenly placed? Those speaker holes? Can't get them smaller? That antenna band... Sheesh, Apple!

Hoping these are all decoys and an all new glass iPhone will be released this year instead.

By this time two years ago we knew what to expect with the iPhone 6. Just saying...

Guys, what if Apple didn't innovate the device, but the price? :D

500€/$ iPhone 7 for everyone!

That's why they ordered so much stock.... because at those prices everyone is going to fight to buy one!

I can see Apple finally dropping prices to keep iPhone sales humming along. Maybe $599 for a 64GB model and $499 for 16GB (a $150 drop).

Yes, true. That's what makes this so depressing, it has none of the wow 1, 3, 4 or possibly 5 had.

Yep, and the revenue over the next year will be telling.

I don't elevate a phone above where it is in life, nor diminish how the advancements has worked to make things easier. That said, I'm looking forward to the iphone 7, I'll have to wait and see, if I really want it, which typically is Novemberish, after the rush.

While I doubt this is the case, it would be welcome. Comparing the price of the SE to the 6 or 6S now is crazy. The 6+ is $649 for the 16gb model and the SE is $399. Sure the screen is a lot bigger but the internals are way better in the SE. Or the 6S whose screen is only a little larger than the SE has very similar internals and also cost $649. That's over 60% more expensive for an extra 0.7" of screen and a couple other minor advances.

The SE is super bargain priced, so perhaps they'll surprise us again by dropping the price of the 7, but I'm not holding my breath. They'll at least get rid of the 16gb model, so perhaps they'll make the base 64gb which essentially is reducing the cost of their phones by $100 each, but they may also just give us 32gb.

A persistent rumor circulating through the blogosphere recently has the most expensive iPhone 7 being made from glass. That some rumor sites have failed to report on this is very curious.

You must have a lot of time on your hands to go out of your way to post every negative thing you can about Apple.
Yeah, because apparently you have so much going on in your life that you didn't even have the time to reply to me lol.

That's already happening. Most cell phone companies have buyback programs and companies like Gazelle are in similar markets. They buy these phones back to resell. That's an obvious case of "reusing."
