I don't see what a recall would accomplish. It's based on the assumption that the antenna issue is an 'oops' moment and that they can fix it with a simple manufacturing tweak. They knew this would be a potential issue from the day they finalized the design on paper, then they looked in the crystal ball and said "meh, it's the iPhone. People would rather hold it differently than live without it."If the software update does not improve the issue for customers, there may actually have to be some form of recall, or extension period to return the product, way past Apple's original window.
Apple deleting mentions of Consumer Reports' iPhone 4 piece on forums, can't delete your thoughts
So, why are you booking passage on a ship you're convinced is going to sink. You brag about your five-figure investment (yawn) in Apple products, but don't expect them to be around after the Apple "bubble" pops. No wonder there's a difference between your balance sheet and Apple's.
CS is full of morons anyways.
I hate it when customers come in and start by saying, "Well Consumer Reports said blah blah blah."
If you like Consumer Reports, then listen to them and you do not need our help.
Not a brilliant antenna design.
Not a brilliant antenna design.
Not a brilliant antenna design.
SteveJobs said:"Now WHAT does an Apple iPhone need a brilliant antenna design for in the first place? 10 year olds will line up to buy it anyway, and half of THEM will drop and break it before any faults are discovered.
The rest can be easily persuaded, along with a complicit press we will buy, that it's a DESIGN FEATURE. And CUTTING EDGE.
Because in the future, mobile phones won't NEED ANTENNAS. Indeed, people won't need mobile phones because they will have Apple iBrain chips implanted directly into their brains.
Of course, the antennas in those iBrain chips won't work either if the user is standing upright.
You see, the Apple iPhone 4 is SUPER-ADVANCED, from a time in the future where even iBrain chips won't NEED working antennas!!
Apple: Where marketing beats the pants off innovation and simple functionality every single time.

You should ask yourself how Apple got so many fans in the first place. Wasn't it making brilliant, genius products in the first place? Who had an iPhone when it come in 2007? Nobody!
You mean the lucky blessed ones, before the dark times?

The crossroads probably dates back to 2008 or so, and there's no turning back. A fix would require extensive redesign. Extensive redesign would take them a year or so. Meanwhile they'll have to make do with damage control, bumper sales, cosmetic sofware updates, distractions, wagging the dog...
Dark times for who? Apple is sitting on $30 billion and about to take over the TV streaming business and who knows what else. Get on the iLife bandwagon or be left behind.![]()
Straight from the night crew Cupertino Apple boiler room.... paid by the word?

now i am even sure that you need a brain surgey. apple builds product for general public and not nerds like you who cant afford it therefore can only talk **** about it.
I should get paid!
Alas, I only own a Macbook but I want to buy into the FULL iLife if possible. Windows 7 so far is good enough, we'll see.
P.S. Apple, under Steve Jobs, can't even walk and chew gum at the same time, let alone dance.

Now that's sad. Once upon a time Apple cared about the nerds. Now it only seems to care about the Applebee's crowd.![]()
That's just it. I'm not convinced it's going to sink IF I can get it to turn around.
Apple only cares about the Disney crowd. But not the ones growing up now on Blu-ray who'll get their computers from someone, anyone else.

But damn he sure rocks that black turtleneck.![]()
And you've been posting here all day long for what? Because Apple hasn't updated the Mac Pro? Seriously? This warrants your I-microwaved-my-baby-to-save-the-whales caliber insanity? They updated Mac Pro last year. Must you really have a new one every year? Failing that, do you really feel that you must "take matters into your own hands"? It's a business. They're out to make money. They don't owe you ****. They will very likely get the first batch when Intel steps up to "Sandy Bridge", and you'll get your refresh in Q1 of 2011.
They're a business. They sell a lot more iPods than Mac Pros, and they don't owe you anything. You are a ****ing craaaaazy piece of ****. Seriously.
That's just it. I'm not convinced it's going to sink IF I can get it to turn around.
My balance sheet, by the way, is not a bubble.
