I think you just fell off a slippery slope. That doesn't sound at all likely. Net neutrality is about treating web content equal so that big or small sites can get the same speeds and providers can't control what people see.
Test me.
Save your response and read it again in 2017 and see how it applies.

I hope that I'm wrong. More than words can express. It's kinda like wishing you didn't know the truth. :D

No one can predict the future. I won't completely discount your opinion, but I feel that it's too extreme to happen.

Only thing we can do, be more selective with the information we divulge to companies. Little things, like secret questions, etc. I'll bet companies harvest that stuff and put that in your "file." I always lie for my secret questions. The city I was born in has been in about 25 cities all over the world, and not one my real birth city. Stop with the store cards, never give our your info, etc. We don't realize how cheaply we have sold out our information.

Thats true. People are very trusting of online companies with nice websites, to a fault. We shouldn't just give away our data. At the same time, companies need to implement encryption that not even they can break so that even if the government wanted their data, they couldn't get it.

Based on his current behavior I think he will. He's been vetoing bills that go against the wishes of Americas thankfully.
This bill seems to go right along with what Obama has been pushing recently. Sadly it seems to be the one bipartisan area in our country today.

For those who care, make sure you remember your Senators who voted YEA (in favor) of this legislation. Also interesting to note that of the 5 Senators that abstained (or did not vote)….. 4 of them are (2016) Presidential candidates! o_O

What do people expect?
People voted for the politicians that came up and approved this.
And people are now complaining?
And yet people keep voting and supporting the SAME politicians?

Hello? Am I missing something?
This bill is passed because the people want it. If you actually didn't want it, then maybe, just maybe, vote for somebody else to represent you. Just saying. If you keep voting and supporting the same politicians that you were complaining about, well, you got what you wished for.

So the politicians you vote for you agree with them on ALL policies 100%?

That's why I always try to pick the innocuous questions. I don't care if my "file" knows my first pet's name.

What's with all these mumble jumbo talk? If apple encrypted the iPhones and other devices...they (apple) can't even bypass those encryptions. If they can't do it...Gov't can't do it.

It's too bad that Apple didn't speak out about this until a few days before it was supposed to be voted on! Geez, could they be any more transparent about not really caring about it? This was just a play to look good in front of Apple fans.

If they had REALLY cared, they would have loudly been against this for weeks and months.

And I'm just as upset at Twitter and the other companies that meekly did the same thing.

Bernie Sanders was the only 2016 Presidential candidate that voted against CISA.

Bernie for Pres!

This country needs Bernie now more than ever.

I would never vote for Bernie, it would basically be like Obama 2.0, but I respect him for being on record with his stance on the issue.

As for the other presidential candidates, I am not excusing them, but they are all in Denver for a debate tomorrow. So, they couldn't vote.

But, I know at least one of them that was publicly against this and that is Rand Paul.

As a US citizen, I am very disappointed that this passed (though, admittedly I only found out about this right now).

Did I, or anyone other citizen have a say in whether or not this should be passed?
You sure did. It's called an election.
