Don't you have like 7 or more days to return it?

its 14 days... but theres a 10% restocking fee i believe... even if its unopened im pretty sure, thats to prevent ppl from buying and returning incessantly... i think the loop hole around that is too refuse delivery and have it sent back to apple then u say u never got it or some thing of that sort... its discussed a couple of times in the "full laptop refresh" thread

APPLES POLICY.

IF it's a CTO, that means Configured To Order.

If you added RAM, a graphics card, a Hard Drive, or a higher processor speed, or preinstalled software (logic exp, iWork, final cut exp.) it's UNRETURNABLE.
If you simply clicked a model, and chose it as-is, then you have 14 days, and there is ZERO restocking fee as long as it's unopened!

You can not return web orderd to the Physical store they have to be returned to Apple Online. So don't bother going down to the store with it,
send it back ASAP.

You just say there is a problem with it, like the wifi doesn't work well. Then you can return it within 14 days no matter what, and if you book your free courier collection for a bit after (say you are going on holiday) you could have a free mac for a month.

If you do this a few times its best to change the email you order with as that is their unique id on your order history.

In other words, lie, cheat and steal.

I hope most ppl on these forums are more honest than this...

If you think paying 10% for a return is fair then fine you do that. Some of us don't have money to throw away like you obviously do. In the UK we have the distance selling rule to protect buyers against this exact thing, so we can return things ordered from any online site within 7 days for any reason, we aren't forced to lie.

memory bump

Core 2 Duo is a bit faster than Core (1) Duo. Core 2 Duo runs a bit cooler than Core (1) Duo. The Core 2 Duo chip is supposedly about the same price as the Core (1) Duo chip. Apple may (or may not) bump up the RAM in its Core 2 Duo MacBooks without bumping the price.

It looks like I was right about them bumping up the RAM (except in the low-end model) without bumping up the price.

'Empirical Evidence'

Just got off the phone with a reliable Infinite Loop source and asked if I should buy a MBP now, or wait until January 8th.

He said that empirical evidence shows that MWSF 07 would be a 'good time' for Apple to update the line.

hmmmm.....
