No it's top secret and DTphonehome thinks I shouldn't be asking anyone with one for that kind of info 'cause he thinks I'm asking for myself instead of for the group.So.... (my Macbook is enroute so I will know eventually) - but have we determined by those who have them in their hot little hands - that the vents have been improved a la MBP a week or so ago?
Right...By the time 32bit is abandoned, your macbook will be very obsolete. Think 7 years from now or more.
None.So if I don't need screen size on the road and I'm willing to give up a little clock speed what's the compelling reason to go MBP? (as I said one post above (sorry) I don't game)
Which is why we've been harping all year for everyone to wait until now.Right...
Considering the amount of new OSX software today that is "Intel Only", I think that a 7 year lifespan for 32-bit OSx86 is wishful thinking.
Consider the *fact* that only the MacIntels sold in the first few months of the transition are 32-bit only, and you should worry about "x64-only" software very soon....

Thanks for those shots. They look nothing like the new MBP Vents. I don't really know what the Rev A MB Vents look like. Can anyone say these are different or not?Sorry I didn't tell you what Legacy Village -- its the name of the apple store in my area east of Cleveland Ohio.
Here are pics of the rear of the macbook -- sorry for it being grainy, but all I've got is my phone camera.
My Apple store (Norfolk) had all three in stock. So are these now in stores?

Looks like nothing has changed but the processor. Gentlemen, commence your bitching.
Can anyone say these are different or not?
BTW, I was NOT DEMANDING anything. I was being DIRECT and INSTRUCTIVE and never intended to demand these pics. It was a shout out. Not a demand. Edited the pics to be small file size and rotated to show how they look when you are looking at it from front and rear.
He not only didn't tell us what country he is in, he didn't tell us the State nor the City. I'd say that without that info we have NO CLUE where these MBs are surfacing first. I'm sorry I had a cow about it. I overlooked he was a newbie. Lots of newbies lately. To me it seemed that you were being not just demanding but out right rude and to make matters worse you made snide comments about him not giving the address of the store accurately enough.
Yes I am.You seem to hover around these forums acting like an authority on all things apple when it's clear that you are anything but
No I don't and I apologize for that to all I may have offended with my directness.and seem to delight in bullying those new to the forums.
I did not know that was a rule. I'm not a prophesier. I make educated guesses based on historical facts and information gathered here and elsewhere around the web.Established posters have a duty to make others feel welcome not to parade around prophesising and passing judgement.
These MacBooks will NOT be obsolete when Santa Rosa comes out. Santa Rosa will make almost no difference in performance. There will be a better graphics chipset from Intel then though. Now you can get on with annoucing how all these new laptops will be obsolete just as soon as santa rosa comes out.
Very nice! This was a nice little surprise. Even if only the processor has been upgraded, it's still an upgrade... so be happy with it. It looks like Apple updated all their Macs, except for the Mac mini, in time for the holidays.

You're wrong. It won't double the battery life - it won't do anything to the battery life at all. The computers are going to use the same amount of power.
How much "professional editing" will be done on Macbooks?![]()
In any case, it's simple enough to connect a top-quality monitor (up to 24").![]()
The pcworld one for £699 is a philips-x56
Next Tuesday November 14 will be the C2D mini and 8-core Mac Pro announcements. The following week is Thanksgiving and Black Friday when all Apple Stores will offer everything for 10% off including all computers.you forgot the mac pro, it will probably be within the few weeks along with the mini.
Two quick questions I hope no one minds me asking... (boy what a long thread this is, lol)...
1. Is it CONFIRMED, that the new Rev. 2 MacBooks have 802.11n support?
2. Is it true that my current 1st Revision MacBook is only 32 bit and the new ones are 64bit, because of the Core Duo > Core 2 Duo change?
Not really. The Mac Mini has always been neglected in some manner because it's not supposed to be a major selling point. Apple would rather have a person buy an iMac over a Mac mini.
If you start kitting out a Mac Mini to the same spec as an iMac, you start finding the Mac mini is quite an expensive machine. In fact it wouldn't surprise me if there is more profit in a mini than a low end imac.
