I would like to see a higher resolution screen on the big iPad and a front facing camera. The existing iPad is very fast in handling big PDF files, which is great for technical manuals containing illustrations and stuff, but it could use a higher screen resolution to become more "eye friendly" :)

A 7" iPad huh? The iPad itself already has a problem with finding it's niche. Never mind a 7" version. To top it all off, a Verizon iPhone huh? Hasn't that been brought up every year since the iPhone has been out? Lol. I guess if you keep talking about it and wishing hard enough it may eventually come true?
Well it is inevitable...

Finding a niche?

If it's having a problem finding a niche, then why are they always sold out at the local store and don't even offer employees discounts on them yet. My wife and daughter both have one and love them. Personally, I think they are too big, but also think my iPod Touch is a bit too small, so 7" might be ideal.

No point in buying an ipad now, not with new models just over the horizon.

Define "just over the horizon." If iPad updates will be out in September, I don't want to buy one right now. If they won't be out until March, I want to buy one right now.

Here's where the certainty of a yearly product cycle (a la iPhone or iPod) would be good for me as a consumer. It would really help me make purchasing decisions.

Gaming

When apple tv gets an app store, we have finally seen the day where apple enters console gaming. Imagine apple competing with the gaming market? Image games where your iPhone is the controller or perhaps a peripheral that houses an iPod or iPhone as the controller with a display on it. Bamf

I absolutely agree with you. I would REALLY like to use an iPad to take and annotate lecture notes (PDFs). That would be awesome. Not just some random 3rd party app and pen... Saw a couple of people got iPads in class but that that's still read-only and still need pen and paper to jot things down.

Webcam as well... if Apple really wants to expand the FaceTime market this is pretty much how they should do. Stick a webcam onto all of its iDevices...
As far as I'm aware you can't use a stylus on a capacitive touch screen? If you can you'd need a special one.
You can on a Resistive screen but then you'd loose multi touch.

The Key thing for me is AMD CPU's in a Mac! Granted its 'only' the AppleTV box but still good news for AMD :)

My wife bought a stylus for the iPad. It works great. They sell a lot of them on Amazon.

Digitimes??? Might as well be quoting a source from your brother-in-law's yoga's instructor's niece's doctor's ex-wife who works at Apple.

In other words, ************

I notice one little hitch with the AppleTV.. or it denotes a change..

1. AppleTV currently runs on a modified version of OSX Tiger (PPC?).

2. iOS runs on ARM which uses a completely different an incompatible instruction set to intel.

3. AMD Fusion is a combination of an intel instruction set + AMD GPU on one chip.

So this means... iOS makes the leap to the Intel instruction set?

Hm. Well.... ver. 3.0 then?

iPad: twin cams, 9.7" with 1280x720 or more, stylus/art & PS(or some version of it), 512MB RAM, 128GB flash, and I'm there. They just need to punch it up a tad for me to buy. It's almost there.

aTV should be able to run off of any iDevice, if possible. If people could use iPhones/Pads/Pods as aTV, it would trump. Not sure if the hardware is fast enough or the connections are possible through the dock connector.

Personally I think that some of these rumours are rather obvious.

iPad 512MB RAM, with the iPhone 4 using 512MB already - dead cert.

Cortex A9 in 2011 - this is also most likely, as this core will be in common use by then. I'd expect dual-core to be honest.

iOS based Apple TV - also very likely, to prevent platform split.

AMD Fusion based Apple TV - unlikely, as it is a much higher cost than creating an A4 (or better) based device. However AMD will have proper integrated graphics with Fusion, so it's the second option.

7" iPad. This is a more portable form factor, and will be desirable to many for that reason. The smaller screen could also reduce the battery drain, but there's less space for the battery. Weight would also be dropped (to under a pound most likely), making it far more portable. I can believe the rumour, but it might not become reality (it's surely designed, but is it going to be released?).

I really hope that the iPhone will get a metal back. Glass on both sides of the phone, what was that? For me, that was a reason not to buy it, though not the only one. I also hope that the iPhone will get a 64 GB option soon, as I need space for my growing music-library, and I don't want to have an iPhone AND a big iPod (i.e. touch/classic).

AMD's Fusion + iOS???

Makes no sense whatsoever. DigiTimes, next time please come up with some more credible rumours and not some obviously made up nonsense.

looking forward to adding a apple tv to my current apple gear collection. Would love to move my purchased content to the apple tv i have over 30 gigs of content that i run on a mac mini on it's last leg. IT's a g4 mac mini at that.

The ipad is nice but i dont need it but that apple tv is on my wish list for quite sometime now...

yeah, may be something not right there -> ARM is best suited for iOS

they are working on a AMD based solution (CPU+GPU) for 13" laptops? ( i know AMD not so good at mobile CPUs, hey they are picking up and lots of new laptops are released with AMD CPUs nowadays)

who know if apple pays top dollar to AMD they might come up with a better solution than C2D+Nvidia GPU as of now ?

I keep forgetting that this is a rumor site.

Verizon - Not going to happen. Apple is not going to change it's iPhone release schedule. If by chance it comes out, it will be the same as the current iPhone 4. With the next version of the iPhone coming out in June. Which is still a longer life cycle than most phones on Verizon.

iPad - will be kept on a one year life cycle

Apple TV - expect to see that in the Fall.

Yes

Yes

It's amazing that everyone here follows Apple, get's used to their patterns, and then expects Stevie to spice things up in our relationship.

Spring is for iPads
Summer is for iPhones (and dumping iPod Touch stocks with Back to School)
Fall is for iPods

This RAM is on-chip. It is not "sticks". You are like complaining about how the C2D have only 4MB of cache.

So what? RAM is RAM, no matter if on-chip or off-chip. The comparison with cache is not applicable, cache isn't RAM, not even remotely.
