This is interesting…I just pulled up Apple website and the Cosmic Orange 15P is still coming up for 9/19 delivery in all configurations. I have a feeling that this was an app glitch.

Unfortunately, my order hasn’t yet gone into “Processing,” so I can’t even cancel.

***EDIT: I created a mock order and the delivery date changes to 9/25. On a different note, my order just went into “Processing,” allowing me to cancel it. The delivery date is still showing 9/25. I think I’ll do an in-store pickup during my lunch break.

Same issue, my Orange 512 AUP (AT&T) immediately showed 9/25, but I was able to select local store for 9/19 so did that. My wife's Air on AUP also defaulted to 9/25 and she submitted it, but is now trying to change to store pickup as well...
 
Same here. Got up before 5 pacific time, waited...at 5:08 was able to order my already set up pre-order to see delivery on 9/25. Cosmic Ornge - 512GB.

It would have been impossible for me to order any faster haha and I still have Sep 25 delivery. I'm pretty sure this is a glitch with IUP and the dates will be moved up to the 19th. Apple normally gives date ranges for delivery estimates which also supports this being a glitch.

Or they prioritized in store availability this year, which doesn't sound likely, but you never know. I am same boat as you, and kinda expected the early orders like ours to be bumped up, probably will know by this weekend if we start seeing action in UPS MyChoice.
 
Pre ordered through Verizon with a 9/19 delivery date. I did an online chat the night before and had them add notes to my account to speed up the process since I was upgraded 3 lines. Verizon opened pre orders 5 min early and everything went smooth.

The app glitched out. Even though I saved everything last night and was there right on time, it still made me re-enter my address and add a country code to my number. By the time I did all that, launch day delivery was sold out. Super frustrating.
 
What makes me mad about my 9/25 date 1 minute after the store opened, is as of now (11:13am EST) the AIR is still available for launch day delivery. HOW is that possible but the Orange PM slips 1 minute in? Can someone make sense of this?
 
I’m really thinking this is a glitch or at least I’m hoping so. 512gb pro max in blue ordered 2 minutes after 5 AM PST and delivery date had already slipped to 9/25. Hmm

Apple overestimated the appeal/demand of the Air. Every Air model is still 9/19 delivery as of 3.5 hours after orders started.

I think the decision-making process on the consumer side there was "Wait. What? No pro colors for the pro lineup? Ugh. Oh well I need a new phone. YOLO!"

A lot of us who have had the Pro since the Pro's first came out are tired of the same boring muted colors while we watched the regular models for years get cool vibrant colors. I for one am super excited to have a vibrant fun color for once.
 
Same here... had my pre-order already 'pre-ordered' and when the store finally came up... 9/25 delivery already! 🤬 Hopefully the shipping times will improve as I know they often under-promise & over-deliver, so hopefully we'll get our phones sooner than that?? 🤞🏻
 
Nearly 4 hours after the preorder opened, all 17 Pro configurations are still showing 9/25 delivery and a lot 9/19 store availability in NYC. I have a feeling that there was definitely a glitch this morning, which is the only reason why I still haven’t canceled my order and submitted a new one for store pickup.

I had pre-saved a 1GB Pro and a 1GB Pro Max both in Blue. The Apple store wasn't opening for me, so I went straight to AT&T and ordered both while waiting for Apple. Apple didn't allow me in until 8:20 EDT. I had long since finished both purchases on AT&T with no issues at all. Luckily, I am still scheduled for 9-19 for both from AT&T.
 
I've ordered a phone I didn't want in the past because the date had been pushed back on the one that I wanted only to have everyone who stuck with the original estimate have their date pushed up to launch date. So this year when I got 9/25, I just completed the process. If the date gets moved up, awesome. If it doesn't, it's six more days. No big deal. I get less and less excited about these every year, which isn't Apple's fault. There's only so much innovation you can do. I have no issues with my 16PM, so I'll just wait the extra week if I need to. Biggest issue for me is making sure I'm home when it's delivered. Though that doesn't always mean I'll get it either — last year FedEx stopped at my house and didn't deliver it. They couldn't find it on the truck. So I had to go pick it up at the shipping center that night.

After doing this every year since the 3GS, I think I've dealt with every scenario possible. So at this point, I guess I'm just going with the flow.
 
The delivery date is now showing 9/19 if I create an order. I’m trying to resist the urge to cancel my existing order (currently in the processing phase, still showing a 9/25 delivery) and placing a new one.
