I used to really look forward to Apple keynotes, but as of late they are somewhat difficult to watch as the Keynotes are so heavily undertoned with diversity and social justice warrior. I want focused product details from one focused person (Steve Jobs was a master at this). I'm all for diversity, and I'm all for social justice movements, but to give an analogy, if I wan't preaching about religion, I'll go to church, and the church does not have a heavy undertone of Apple products. Apple, please stay focused.
WELL, they just lowered the prices on the existing 2019 Macbook Pro 15 today.
Really? I carry mine around with one hand all the time opened. It fits in a backpack better than my old 13" which weighed .5 pounds more!.As a 15” MBP user I can say i don’t think me personally would be able to have anything bigger. The 15” is borderline not comfortably portable.

I don't get people that say the 15" is that big. Too big is 19". 15" is extremely portable to me. Especially ones like these. The older ones not so much.
Buyers remorse for 150-200$? I mean what do you expect for that price? That is really change you find in the street if you feel bad about it owning it for years its really nothing compared to their other products. To paraphrase Steve, we don’t know what we want until we’re shown it.
More storage options or kinder pricing options would be a few things off the top of my head. There are all sorts of other things they could implement. Split screen, better gaming options, dual output... who knows what they’ll do.
However if I buy a 2017 Apple TV at 2017 Apple prices, I’ll get guaranteed buyer’s remorse when the new model is released shortly. It’s been mentioned in the iOS 13 betas so it’s definitely coming.
There's nothing to stop Apple from implementing a quality built-in reader.Again, I can get a faster UHS reader with USB 3.0 or USB-C at B&H for a nominal cost or XQD or CFast instead if I don't need SD, SDXC, et al. Two of my cameras use Wi-Fi or can operate tethered. An external Atomos is of far better use for me while SD Card slots sit unused. An iMac or a Mac mini makes sense in that it might be an ingest station. SD Cards aren't hard drives, but I hear an awful lot of people treating them that way, which is a recipe for heart ache.
I think that was meant for the person I was commenting to. I think the 15" is extremely portable compared to the old Macs I had.Seriously, it weighs 4 pounds. If you're doing something like travelling with a DSLR and some lenses, or traveling with a guitar/amp/microphone or something, odds are the computer is one of the less or least prohibitively heavy things you're dealing with.

This week’s Upgrade, which they record live at 2pm est, is an interesting canary in a cold mine for this. It usually records on Monday, but Jason is affected by the power outages. If Jason says he doesn’t know anything about a briefing or a release, then it’s not happening soon.
Depends on how he phrases it too.
Are you on the education site? That's the price with the edu discount - and it always has been.Wasn't the base price 15 2.3Ghz $2799? It is now $2599. If I am wrong, I apologize... not trying to confuse or add to the hype.

I feel like today could be the announcement of AirTags or the 16” MacBook Pro. I just feel like apple should update the Apple TV with a faster processor and a redesigned Siri Remote seeing that the launch of Apple TV+ is right around the corner.
Not familiar with him or that podcast. Is he as "in the know" as some of the other big Apple journalists? I'm guessing it streams live somewhere?
He is very connected. We was EIC for Macworld and is on the press briefing circuit. It streams on Relay.fm and goes live about 2-3 hours after recording is finished.
He is part of a group of journalists known as The Usual Suspects: Gruber, Dalrymple, Rene Ritchie, and the ATP guys.
Keep us posted on what he says.
