I think you're right about the release date, but disagree with your rationale. Many of us relative newbies don't need the so called "pro" graphics apps, but use PBs for other pro work (for which an iBook would be insufficient without hacks).

Thinking of any Pratt in particular?

Oops - wrong side of the country

Also... small update to itunes tomorrow for intel update.

the pro apps will theoretically run in Rosetta if rumors of Altavec support is true and as has been pointed out ad nauseum the PowerBook is in such a craptastic state right now there is a better then average chance that PPC apps even in emulation would kick the G4 PowerBooks [Bleep]

Off topic: i hate when people do that. they find fame and money and they disconnect themselves from their culture.....

i was at an awards ceremony up here in scotland a few months ago and sean connery turned up to accept some award. yeah, ok, i can't exactly remember because i was pretty drunk by this time (got taken by best friend / business partner who also works for the BBC, so free tickets & food & drink :)), but connery took the stage and went on a rant about how it is so brilliant scotland is doing so well, and he's so proud to be scottish.

but that's not enough to move him back from barbados or wherever the hell in the carribean he lives!

Wait... If the new laptops are "introduced" tomorrow, that means that they'll be on the site, available for ordering, tomorrow? Would they then ship within days, or would people have to wait until later this spring?

They WILL be up that day for sale. The latest they shipped products that they announced there was the iPod mini which went on sail the 20th of February, so they should begin to ship before that. Also the iMac G5 (with iSight) I believe began shipping the week after so thats the newest products ship date. (if that makes sense im sorta rambling on)

The Steve Jobs photos. Am I the only one who is irked by this. I hate paparazzi. I hate seeing "stars" being snapshoted when they aren't expecting it. It has a flavor of voyeurism slash stalking to it. I mean what if the guy needs to adjust himself. He can't even do that without worrying that someone is going to take a picture. But that is just me.

You are so wrong it is bot even funny. Ibooks have been without updates longer than powerbooks. It will likely be both laptops unveiled at mac world, but i guarantee u will see new ibooks.

Days Since Update: 168 for ibook

Days Since Update: 83 for powerbook

see for yourself.... https://buyersguide.macrumors.com//

Has nothing to do with casual updates and speed bumps - I was commenting on the need for overhaul and redesign of the actual product line. We will all believe what we want and some most likely will be right, enough said.

Given the amount of money and fame these people seek and have, it doesn't bother me. It's part of being famous. Suck it up. (They can afford to escape it when they want, just not necessarily where they want)

Edit: I should add, he was in public, and so there is no expectation of privacy. Also, it will be the case soon enough that cameras cover the streets of cities monitoring everybody to make sure they aren't speeding/terrorizing/pilfering/rioting/etc.

I agree that he deserves his privacy. I wouldn't like to have people taking pictures of me getting out of my car. It doesn't matter how rich or famous you are, everyone deserves a little privacy.

People are getting too excited in anticipation of tomorrow's keynote I think. :)

EDIT: It looks like I was trying to argue against your post ncoffey, but I actually posted before I saw that. I must be psychic!

Ya... it's on the line. I guess if it were some Rock Star or Movie Star, I would have less of a problem with it. but that might just be what I'm used to.

Big deal. He was seen in the same clothes he always wears holding the same bottle of water and his car is the same exact Benzo that every famous person on the world already owns. Nothing new.

How do you get 11 hours? I'm in Indiana which is EST and it's 11 PM here. I have 13 hours to go if my calculations are right. Right?
