Drops more calls than 3Gs.

iP4 drops less that 1 additional call per 100.

EDIT: Re-Posted From Above from my error.

surely the return rate is low because people who might have returned have been waiting for the promised software update?

So far, it looks like he's setting us up for "There aren't many of oyu having the problem, so there.". I brought all my packaging with me to work today so that I could return it TODAY if this went south. Still watching...

LOL - <1 additional call dropped over my 3GS MY ASS! I'm LUCKY to not drop 50% of ALL calls I make. Thanks, Jobs.

Admits that the 4 drops more calls than the 3Gs. I'm shocked. If this is going the way I think it is, this is a great setup.

(A few minutes later) Free case. Yup, I knew it.

Can someone please tell me why they even needed this conference? They could've shoved the same crap down our throats with a online press statement.

I can't believe they are pulling this card. What a crock of s**t.

Anyone else furious?

Nope.

Doesn't affect me in day to day use. I'm not a fanboy, you'll label me one, and I won't give a s**t, but still it doesn't affect me in how I use the phone.

I only get bars dropping if a) I choose to hold the phone covering that spot, which I do while at home browsing the web on it (which is connected to WiFi), and b) I'm at home where O2's coverage is crap.

When out and about, I can't make the bars drop when I try and show someone the "issue". I guess Glasgow City Centre is an O2 signal strong point. Who knows.

I really hope that this is just a marketing stunt and he ends with:

"Hey, as you can see, it isn't a issue at all. But we're Apple and we trade your old iPhone 4 in to change it for the iPhone 4R and the R stands for reception!"

I find it rather interesting that Apple is actually providing factual information on a large scale and yet everyone seems so insistent on ignoring that. I think it's obvious the issue is real but I think this is showing how overblown this whole thing has been. I didn't really see this press conference going in another way than it is, and I think they're doing the right thing. I just think that unless Apple had done a massive recall, everyone is just going to continue to rip them apart.

<1 more dropped call? There should not even be even close to 1 dropped call per 100. I've never had a dropped call, ever. I feel really sorry for people stuck on AT&T. :(

I love my iPhone 4 and I'm keeping it, but this isn't going to fly with the average Joe. They need to announce a fix or I see their stock dropping...:(

let me guess, conference will end with: "ok this is it, now you can buy more IP4"

and then, "one more thing: were you expecting something special today?"

Steve

Threw every phone manufactor under the bus....if I'm going down everyone is...LOL

Ha ha, this is a joke.

The other thing too, if all phones have weakspots, then why not place the seam where people don't place their hands (i.e. atop perhaps)? Oh my god, who would've thought!

- Only 0.55% of iPhone 4 customers have called AppleCare about the antenna issue.

******** stat. I haven't called because I know they're not doing **** about it thus far.

I don't like where this is going.

10:26AM "When the 3GS came out, we didn't change the design from the 3G. So there were already lots of cases out there for the phone. And more than 80% of new buyers left the store with a case. Now the new phone doesn't fit those cases, and we can't make these bumpers fast enough, so only 20% leave the store with a case... but we're going to figure it out."

free bumpers it sounds like

Here we go. A few months ago it was iPhones dont need cases. Now, a case is a necessity. And they don't know why there was an increase in dropped calls
