Why call applecare, until someone comes up with a solution. They will just send another phone with the same problems. I have resisted to call, in anticipation he would deliver us a real solution to the problem

When talking about millions of phones/calls, fractions of a percent aren't really "small". He's spinning the whole problem away

I find it rather interesting that Apple is actually providing factual information on a large scale and yet everyone seems so insistent on ignoring that. I think it's obvious the issue is real but I think this is showing how overblown this whole thing has been. I didn't really see this press conference going in another way than it is, and I think they're doing the right thing. I just think that unless Apple had done a massive recall, everyone is just going to continue to rip them apart.

Well, it seems like they picked the "factual information" that support their case, e.g. quoting AT&T return numbers instead of total return numbers.

Good to see at least free bumpers coming out of this. They're ridiculously overpriced!

Edit: Or is Apple offering a free third party case here? They refer to a "case" on the slide and not a bumper.

I agree. Anything Apple is scrutinized much more than other products. It's a problem, I admit that. But it's not a problem with JUST the iPhone 4. But getting real data on a large scale just shows you that people blow things out of proportion with Apple stuff.

Apple is always pushing the envelope with technology and that's a great thing. But to release a Sev 1 bug to the public is un-conscionable. :apple:

it's only 0.55% who have got through when they called AppleCare because everyone else loses the bloody signal while they are waiting for your moronic staff to answer the damn phone!

I'm sure the koolaid set are writing all these talking points down in their trendy moleskin notebooks and will repeat them to us as if they are unquestionable facts.

Presenter LIVE on Sky News just now reporting from their studio, cupping the phone and demonstrating how it makes the bars drop and he says, "Funnily enough I've never been able to reproduce this".

He's live on air, and the bars aren't dropping.

Full coverage and report at 7pm on Sky News.

It would not surprise me if they are fudging the numbers. All of this data is top secret within the company. No one outside really knows what is going on inside. If those percentages are that low this should not even be an issue.

CEO of a publicly trading company intentionally giving wrong numbers during a widely observed press conference = major trouble with the SEC and likely jail time. So I personally do not believe that Steve Jobs would be stupid enough to do this.

his arrogance on this is pretty bad....although at least he is going to give free bumpers only to shut us up it seems like
