They only compared bars, they didn't show us a 3GS
People didn't call because they knew what they would be told.
And people held their phones normally because they showed us they had put the gap where you hold a phone normally? Really?
Again, obvious why they did this on a Friday, they are just slinging all the stuff they can and going to wait the weekend to see what sticks and what doesn't. Put a 'free prize' out in the near future to foster a 'wait and see what this does' attitude and hope the problem can be swept under the carpet.
Apple has lost all integrity.
If my phone is one of the low... .55% then I want to be able to return and exchange for a WORKING one... I DONT WANT A BUMPER!!!
But it can't be good to own a phone that you know has a serious design flaw.
Sorry nerd.

Q: Well it's interesting, there aren't any cases out there, and it's hard to get cases now. If the third party case buyers can produce a receipt, why not give them one?
Steve: It's really simple, if we tell people what our next product is, they stop buying our current products. Sometimes websites buy stolen property and they get out there... and case makers have a history of showing off their new cases for our new products. The case vendors haven't had a history of helping to keep our work under wraps.
Not sure what to make of that answer...
10:48AM Q: Will there be refunds for AT&T contracts?
A: I believe so, yes.
I believe so? A tad ambiguous I think. I hope this also applies to UK iPhone owners who are locked into paying 18 to 24 months of line rental to close their account.
Yup, thanks whiners! I just got me a free bumper.
I know about 30-40 people with an iPhone 4, many are launch day phones.
Only one had a reception issue and this was due to a SIM card reading error.
Went to the apple store and they handed him a new one, problem solved.
One of my friends freaked out about all the reports and returned his and went back to a 3Gs. He also has been through at least 6 3Gs iPhones due to light leaks, and other fussiness. He is kind of neurotic and psycho about his electronics.
Oh BTW, did anyone catch that, 3 million phones! No wonder you can't walk into an apple store and buy one. That is freaking phenomenal that Apple sold more iPhone 4's in 22 days than other handset makers will EVER sell of their competing devices.
Many people go caseless. I've never used a case on my iPhone and none of the people around me in line when I waited for the 4 had a case either. Apple puts a lot of time/money/effort into the look and feel of their devices. To me it seems really stupid to pay for all that and then throw a case on it.

Jobs in concern for Google shocker!11:03AM Q: Would you have done anything differently knowing what you know now?
Steve: Well, of course the Consumer Reports stuff was bad, and of course we would have liked to get on this sooner. We just got this data. We just learned what was going on. We're an engineering company. We think like engineers. We love it, we think it's the right way to solve real problems. I don't think that's going to change, and the way we love our customers isn't going to change. Maybe it's human nature -- when you're doing well, people want to tear you down. I see it happening with Google, people trying to tear them down. And I don't understand it... what would you prefer?
WTF are you talking about? Every flip phone or candybar phone I ever had, had an antenna on top. The droid x has the antenna up in the top of the phone.
Brilliant move by Steve and Apple.
What other company would go public with a thing like this?
And to all the continuing whiners.
They have offered you a free fix or your money back.
Are you all so desperate for attention or the need to complain that you can't get off your bitching butts and enjoy the day?
IT'S A PHONE.
Don't like it...TAKE IT BACK.
Jeeeeeeez
