Apple will shell $90,000,000 for bumpers...
They probably cost more to inspect, package and ship than to make.

Overall pretty disappointing...
the main message I got from this: "There is no antennagate". Right...
This really didn't add up for me:
"we think it's affecting a small batch, but it has to do with inherent problems in smartphones"
So if it's a problem with all smartphones, how can it only be affecting a "small batch" of IP4s?
What about the percentage of people who exchanged their iPhone? How many people were holding off on returning the phone, hoping Apple would announce a recall or some other fix during today's press conference.
In light of this conference, I'd love to see the return rates after the end of next week.
These plus the long-standing Windows fanboys and you see why I have to intervene with some pro-Apple comments sometimes...![]()
The hype behind negative PR for Apple is always ridiculous and overblown.
Well, I just called AppleCare and they don't have any info on a refund or free cases. Also no info on Sept 30th
So I will update the OS if I still see an issue I will req a replacement. and a replacement after 9/30 (that is, if they don't change then entire phone by then......4Gba..........ba=better antenna)
This was my first iPhone purchase. And it's a really amazing gadget. And while I can hold it such to make it drop bars (sometimes), I haven't had a dropped call or anything yet. I imagine if that consistently (or even occasionally) happened I'd be ticked about it and would seriously consider returning the phone and asking for a replacement or a refund. I would not act as if Steve Jobs personally ransacked my wallet and took my hard-earned money. I chose to buy the phone. If you want to swap commentary on how you're disappointed with how the new iPhone turned out, that's one thing, but the garment-rending melodrama from the people in here is mind-blowing. It's a wonder the forum server doesn't crash as it's full with peoples' sense of entitlement, bile, and bitterness. Go outside and hang out in the sunshine for a while or something. Sheesh.
Anyone else feel like the general tone of this conference was, "NONISSUE NONISSUE NONISSUE! TAKE YOUR FREE F#%@% CASE AND STOP COMPLAINING!" Because that's all I got out of it.

It's so LOW that's why Apple called a press conference!Apple must think were ****ing idiots.
This whole thing is a joke. SCREW YOU JOBS!
If the iPhone got most of its sales because people bought a contract from AT&T and got an iPhone whether they want it or not, that would matter.
The fact that most windows sales simply happen because people buy computers and with only one exception you have to buy windows with it, isn't really a selling point.
Any other stupid comments?
Anyone???
easy ClownBoy...I see your mouth is just as big...![]()
But their statistic is that .55% of the people purchasing iPhone 4s have reported an antenna or reception problem to applecare.
1.7% of AT&T users purchasing iPhone 4s have returned them. Versus 6% for the same time period on the 3GS.
This is actual population data, not inferred statistics. How are they misrepresenting the data?
Bueller?? Bueller?? (you young bucks might not get the reference)
