Besides, why wouldn't you want a protective case for this phone? I would buy one in a heartbeat right after I purchased an iphone to protect it in case it dropped.Spineless Apple Execs and Their Lame Excuses

Ahhhh... they did! I don't see Motorola, Samsung or other phone companies come out and explain what's going on and then back it up with a full refund offer.
Wish I had a full refund offer on one of LG phones... it really sucked. Could make a call, but everything else was horrible. Bad software. Poor flip phone design that failed in 6 months... etc... LG never offered me a full refund for their poor design.

Ouch strong words. No one is perfect and no one is a complete failure, everyone is somewhere in between. If anyone is a complete failure then why are they even here?

I own a iphone 3gs , an ipad and a macbook . I like apple products but they do have issues. I will wait til the next version of the iphone.

If you can solve the antenna problem for the smartphone industry, get a PhD and some patents. You'll be rich.
I like that aspect of him, but the fact that he's like that makes it even more frustrating that he's dancing around certain issues. I mean, if an issue is so sensitive that not even Steve Jobs can give a straight answer about it, the truth must be really bad.
The one question on everyone's mind involves the fact that they chose to put a naked antenna on the outside of the phone, and that the signal problem isn't so much about attenuation, but by bridging. Is that fixable in any way (with software or hardware tweaks) or are we stuck with it permanently?
That seems to be the heart of the issue. But after a month of emails, letters and now a press conference they're still not touching that particular issue with a ten foot pole. I guess that's an answer of sorts.
I don't know, but I'm sure getting sick of waiting. If I'd have known it would be this long I'd probably have bought a black one.
It looks like those people who thought Apple would wait until the first wave of buyers were outside their 30-day window were right.
To be honest it's better than I expected, and a little less arrogant than I expected. "we're not perfect" needed to be said. The stuff about them wanting to make "*all* our users happy" seems a bit hollow to me with the current stance on Blu-ray though. Free cases is a good thing.

Jobs defended Google during the event for people trying to take them down because they are successful.
If Google were involved in any of this I doubt he'd have said that.

Thats because for most people it doesn't exist. I don't know a single person, myself included who has any iPhone 4 issues.
Sadly, because its Apple, people want to find and invent problems that don't really exist so they can feel good about bashing something.
