People are just mad/jealous because Steve Jobs finally told them especially the media to shut the f- up. :D He told them the truth of the situation. I think i'll go buy an Apple product now.

No I'm mad that I cant hold my phone and complete a phone call with out it dropping signal and my call.

For the last time it's how apple is handling the situation. Every phone experiences this I understand but not as severe as the iPhone 4 get off your high horse and figure it out

It's got nothing to do with the antenna. It's because you're with that horrible cell phone company. :D Should have switched to Verizon when you had the chance.

I'm making the full and final switch to Android.

Ok? What do you want?

Steve said if you don't like it, return it. Then you can go to android forums and complain about your issues with those phones, since all phones have imperfections!

It's stupid. I didn't call Applecare and I have the issue. All my friends didn't call Apple. We were waiting for a fix. What a bunch of garbage.

Exactly! I didn't call Applecare because I didn't want to be told that it was a "non-issue" and that I shouldn't be holding it that way. I was waiting for Apple to take care of the problem, not "cover" it up!

Wrong, all phones DO have this problem actually. I used to cell cell phones and I have friends who still cell cell phones and customers always came in with blackberries, or nokias, or sony ericsons (iPhone wasn't out yet when I sold phones) complaining that if they touched the antenna the signal dropped.

Everyone just loves to hate apple, nothing more.

Did Motorolla tout "revolutionary antenna design"?

I've spent a lot of money on Apple products over the years and I have a lot of applications which don't work on any other phone. So I can't really take it back now can I?

And to the person above who thinks they wouldn't modify the design until iPhone 5, what do think re-evaluate means? You think they will do nothing about it and that they want to keep giving bumpers/cases away until next June, all the while showing everyone else that their fantastic new phone does not work properly - Wake up sunshine!

Then the problem must not too serious or you must not be in dire need of a phone because if it was you would return and get a product that worked for you.

I've been using the iPhone since the original EDGE model and have bought plenty of apps for. If I was having such trouble with my new iPhone I would return it ... end of discussion. I need a phone that works.

If it's such a problem return it. Return it and buy another one and see if it works better. But do something other than crying on the internet, they've given you plenty of options.

I'm making the full and final switch to Android.

I was waiting for the white iPhone4 and to see how they resolved this, but it looks like I will be testing out the new Droid X. Skype over U-verse just hasn't been reliable enough lately to compensate for the over 50% drop call rate on my iPhone at my house (yes AT&T is aware of my issues, they always note it down, try various things, but none of it helps. In the 4th largest city in the U.S. and apparently in a state, Texas, that Steve Jobs specifically mentioned takes only 3 weeks to approve a new cell tower, I encounter all sorts of dead zones with the iPhone, and reception seems to be getting worse over the past year not better at my house.)

Is this everywhere or just in certain places where you have the issue of dropped calls (not dropping signal)

I wonder how other manufacturers will respond to Apple calling them out so to speak. I bet we see a few commercials that attack the iPhone4 directly.

They already have. There's some fat pig of a smartphone that has room inside for two antenna's. But a 10 year old brick-sized phone has an even bigger antenna. So, big deal.

Apple is working at fixing this contact-antenna problem (advanced antenna design in the works) but no returns. The iphone 4 works for the better amount so deal. Right?

Or just wait until they make enhancements as they normally do in given time and buy the next iphone.

Jesus christ, is this the complainer's forum? I was looking for news on the press conference...wrong place?

Enjoy the show, pal ;)
Whatever apple said or is going to say, whiners and naysayers here are going to complain. Whatever.

They are here just to bash apple, nothing more.
They didn't listen to what jobs said. They had answers well before.
Enjoy the show.

I say we all solve the problem like this and make it our visual statement of "don't buy this defective piece of crap".

eve though you get paid for posting **** like this, you yourself know that you are kidding yourself...

Yes...here in San Antonio there are pockets of dead zones in highly populated areas. The funny thing is that San Antonio for a long time was AT&T's headquarters. I too will be testing out the new Droid X this weekend.

Cool, a free case. :p

Honestly, I just changed the way I hold the phone (seems like the logical thing to do) and I don't see why some people here are completely against that. Sure, it is kinda inconvenient for like, a day, but then this issue you've been bitching about for almost a month completely goes away, so...

Edit: Of course, I live in the outskirts of Indianapolis, which is probably a lot better for the signal than others. That's just my experience, though.

Most People who are complaining about this are ANDROID users JEALOUS and INSECURE of the iPhone 4. :)

You mad Im an iPhone user switching to Android??? You mad I can think logically and see the strengths and weakness in each and make up my own mind?

I didn't see him addressing you in particular.

I think he's just (understandably) irritated by the folks who whine and moan about how awful this is, and how Apple is lying, and how they shouldn't have to put up with this, and then (in another post), say they don't have one, and never will because their android phone is so great.

Them and the people who complain that they can't believe the call/return statistics because *they* didn't call or return their iPhone 4.

 huh?

Had Verizon, I live in LA, the second you go below ground (parking structures, etc) you loose all service. As soon as you walk in an elevator you loose all service. Let's see with AT&T I have almost full service underground and in elevators sooooo....yahh maybe I should have switched. I'll take a few dropped calls that I rarely experience over loosing service simply because I walked a few feet underground or in an elevator ;) cheers

Only place I have not been able to reproduce the problem was in the Milwaukee Mayfair Mall Apple store:(
Am able to reproduce the problem on my phone, wife's phone and my daughters. Never had a dropped call problem on my 3G S in the same locations.
