I'm in San Francisco now. I went to check-in today and get my free goodies. I was trying to take a picture when I had about 3 security guards get onto me. Security seems tight. Should be an interesting day tomorrow.

what were you trying to take a picture of? and why wouldn't you be allowed to take a picture if stuff is covered?

the cnbc thing could actually be pretty interesting considering they have a nice relationship and past history with jobs and apple. i will definitely check it out tomorrow.

NO.

It's a developers conference.

I agree... people seem to miss this a lot;)

I think the covered banners are for some "secret" applications in OSX10.5 - people hoping for new equipment at a consumer level are more than likely going to be screaming with disappointment for the only reason they don't understand this conference is for developers not consumers.

Developers could easily use a speedy, larger iMac so I could see that happening. That and displays. They do need hardware to help them produce great software.

iPods I don't think so. Even the iPhone is too consumer-ish to talk about at WWDC. I think Leopard a few new pieces of hardware will be it.

There's plenty of professionals who use iMacs.

There are plenty of professionals who use iPods too. You wouldn't see any iPods refreshed at WWDC either.

The fact is, if you research Apple's product strategy and actually go back and look at Stevenotes, Jobs has said that the iMac is a consumer device. I.E. intended for those who aren't using it for business.

Is the iSight not a consumer device?

No, Developers develop for OS X using professional products. The iMac is a consumer product.

True but OS X runs on both consumer and professional products. I think its ignorant to suggest that just because its a developer conference that non professional Macs won't be announced. Its true that we wont see an iPod, but I wouldn't rule out consumer focused Macs considering that developers will still be developing for them. Then again it still isn't very likely that they will be.

In WWDC's history, we have never seen any consumer-intended product launched.

What's your reasoning for no iPod? Just curious...
