Well, they don't call people apple fanboys for nothing. Sorry but a covered banner at an annual conference seems lame to report on. I mean, that is unless this is the first year they ever used a banner. In that case, it's news!

People who are saying that the iPhone won't be getting much time at WWDC, personally I think you could be mistaken. Remember that the iPhone may possibly be open to third party developers? Well... they're developers... the iPhone can be developed on... this is WWDC.

What bit you in the ass and started to wiggle? Last time I checked developers write programs for computers. They don't exclude consumer models.

Calm down. All I'm saying is that if Apple has a professional product line, and Developers use professional products, at WWDC you would see new professional products released. If the iMac were to be bumped to professional status, or some new model that follows the iMac niche is intended for their "Pro" buyers, I could see it at WWDC. That's all.

I'm not saying it's impossible to see a consumer device at a developers conference, I'm just saying it wouldn't make much sense. To me.

Mac mini has a plastic top - its not all metal.

Internal iSights are a completely different thing.

There is plastic on the front end of external iSights, isn't there? :p

I think one of the banners will have the new Leopard Finder on it - maybe something like this:

finder_leopard_small.jpg

If they do that, they better fix the blurry bar on GMA 950s!!!

A covered banner at an Apple hosted event...

NO FREAKIN WAY?!?!?!

Shoot, now I'll never fall asleep tonight...

OH- OK just so I understand you, you're suggesting developers only develop for software, and all of the 3rd party accesory manufacturers aren't developers?

And I mentioned that.

No I'm pretty sure I mentioned explicitly the term developer base. There are different developer bases and WWDC has never addressed the 3rd party iPod developer base. But it does address the developer base that develops for consumer desktops. So its not impossible to see an iMac or Mac Mini announced at one of these things. I mean iChat and the iSight have both been announced at these things.

But someone has already mentioned, they can and will announce whatever they feel like is best for their company to announce at that moment. Traditionally it has been professional products, but if the eyes of the world are watching and a new revolutionary iMac is ready, they will. Apple is run by a bunch of anal fanatics so they are going to think differently than the average MacRumors reader. (thats wasn't meant as a personal insult or anything, FYI)

It's an advert for Steve's house for sale.

It's got no windows!

Hohoho that video was good.

Covered banner thingy and consumer lines at WWDC07

Quick question... At any of the previous WWDC events has there ever been a release of ANY new consumer products?

Just wondering.

Well, not to be an ass or anything, but please talk about it in the support forums instead.

I'd kinda say that that was fine to put in here, he was not asking for help, just giving us the information that there may be somthing up with the website, which for thoes of us who know how web servers work, could have somthing to do with local computer caching and there be somthing different on apple.com

No. The iSight has been released, but that is geared toward all userbases.

Dear Lord

Thank you for removing Roz Ho from future keynotes. Now my shirts will no longer be ruined by blood dripping from my ears.

Now if you could just remove that corporate fake Scott Forstall, then my teeth could stop grinding, and I could finally pay my dentist tab.

Amen

Yeah, you're right. Especially since it happened to me and others. I changed it. Thanks!

Check out this image. Its a banner that sum1 managed to snap a picture of. some of the icons look new.

Anyone know what the one with the screwdriver is? all of the dashcode ones i've seen so far are with a hammer.

But 1984, why would the title have the word "Developers" in it if the overwhelming theme isn't for developers? Surely Apple has some continuity in their events with regard to titles and product offerings...

Yeah! Like last MacWorld's keynote.. With nothing about Macs in it.

I'm in the camp which says its entirely plausable that consumer desktops would be launched at a developer event. Developers will be making software for it - particularly if it has an unusual interface they need to see it before the consumers.

Even just new imacs - Developers would love to see something that can significantly increase Mac marketshare, and a lot of them would end up using them anyway. Mac Pros seem more likely, but I wouldn't rule out any new models..

Yeah, I've never seen the one on the lower-right. Then again, I'm not a developer.

Oh! Good counter point! I personally wish that the iPhone was released at a SE and Macs released at MacWorld. But I guess nothing really big has happened until recently with regards to the Mac.

And I'm not ruling out anything, I was just saying I can't see it happening.
