COVID-19 Vaccine Experience

Pfizer #1 - sore arm
Pfizer #2 - much more arm soreness, headache and nausea for 1 day

Very grateful to have received it.
Pretty much the same also.

Pfizer 1 on Mar. 11 - Got the shot around 1:15pm, Felt spaced out most of the night, the next day. Like a minor hangover. Arm soreness was the most annoying. Whole feeling lasted a day & 1/2

Pfizer 2 was yesterday. 12:30. Felt fine most of the day...no "foggy feeling" this time. But I started to feel a bit beat up last night around 7:30.

Tired, headache...some body aches, arm was much more sore, chills. I went to bed but woke up at 3am feeling awful! Soaked in sweat but no fever or nausea...just hurting all over. Took Tylenol and felt better after 45min, 1 hour. Started feeling terrible around 2pm today. Again took Tylenol. 5:30pm now I feel ok...just wiped out. Hope this subsides by tomorrow.

I'll live...and I'm grateful also. Im pretty darn sure this is far better than a hospital stay or a hooked up to a ventilator!

Yes they are, Marxist troops are going to march down the street and force everyone to get them but they are offering lollypops if you're good.
we have alligators for that who love candy and troops!
thanks for the funny reply- i don't do news!

Pfizer first shot had slight sore arm first day then ok again
second shot yesterday less of an arm sore but woke up today with fatigue, muscle aches, and chills. Hopefully tomorrow will subside.

I received a first dose of Pfizer two days ago. My arm became sore around the injection site not long after the shot. It felt similar to a flu shot. A few hours later, I could feel some tightness in my neck. I then took a single ibuprofen pill.

That was pretty much it. I didn't take any more ibuprofen. There is some residual soreness in my arm but nothing major.

My arm is sore as heck this morning but still worth it. Now I'm kind of worried about the second dose since most say the side effects are worse on that round.
While waiting for your second dose, don't worry about it. Worry about getting COVID, and spreading it to the 15 people you love the most. That will be enough motivation to go back.

Yes, my second dose reaction was "worse" than the first. But it wasn't like an illness. I was just very tired from the moment I got out of bed the next day. But 24 hours later, I was fine.

Gregg said it best, get it done...the relief of protection is worth it!

My arm was sore for a day & 1/2 after first dose..tired.
2nd dose..Ok, I admit I wasn't looking forward to it also...but I HAD TO.

ALSO keep in mind not everyone is feeling worse than the first after that second dose.

*Last night I felt ok to get to Target, bought 4 bottles of Pedialyte, Downed 2 last night, 1 this morning. Just jacked up on electrolytes...seemed to really help I think!

Oh I have no problem getting the second vaccine. Just not looking forward to the possibility the side effects may be worse. My arm is still sore as heck. My arthritic joints have been on fire.

I've had Covid (albeit very mild) and I've also lost someone to this heinous virus. So I 150% want to be vaccinated if it helps me and others stay healthy.

Thanks for the tip on electrolytes. That sounds like a great plan for the next round.

I got Moderna #2 Friday and it took me out for most of the weekend I was painfully tired, sickly/ichy skin, my heart rate wasn't normal, and I still have a sore throat. I'm glad it's done and I don't have to do it again.

2nd Moderna yesterday afternoon, arm around the injection started to get. bit sore in the evening, took some Ibuprofen before going to bed, slept pretty good but woke up with a little headache/neckache (but that is not uncommon for me).
Overall felt a little worn but ok, took Ibuprofen again at 7, did my usual spin bike workout (16 miles) and am still feeling ok.
My resting heart rate this morning was at 67, over the past few weeks it's been around 60-62, my heart rate was also slightly higher during the workout.
So far so good ...
update 7:45pm: I did develop a fever later in the morning and most of the afternoon, headache and neck ache and Ibuprofen didn't do much of anything. But better now, hopeful for a good nights sleep

I saw in The Washington Post yesterday that the CDC has now recommended pausing administration of the J&J vaccine due to concerns over a few instances of rare blood clots, similar to what was going on in Europe with the Astra Zeneca vaccine. Appointments that had been made to receive the vaccine yesterday were canceled or postponed to a later date, and/or the recipient was offered the opportunity to receive a different vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) if it were available at the same site. This will give clinicians time to investigate the J&J vaccine more thoroughly.

We got some in for some soldiers getting ready to go do soldier stuff and my mail box was blown up this morning with the don't administer emails from just about every level of command..

The problem is now we are turning more people off to taking the vaccine

My son had a J&J vaccine scheduled for this Saturday at a RiteAid pharmacy. It has now been changed to a Moderna vaccine, with no change in date or time. I suppose that those who had shots scheduled there for a day or two after the pause was invoked had to reschedule.

I agree that this will make even more people who were "on the fence" more reluctant to get any vaccine. It's unfortunate, but probably a consequence of the compressed testing for an emergency use authorization. Locally, the now FEMA-run vaccination site has become by appointment or walk-up to encourage more people to get a shot. That has worked to some extent, but they still have more doses to give than people getting them.

I got the J&J 10 days ago. Minor fever and insomnia that night. No sore arm. My wife had similar experience. Apparently one is out of the woods on the blood clots after day 14. What I am experiencing is fatigue. I can normally run on a treadmill for 30 minutes at 10 minute intervals with fast walking between sets. Yesterday I ran the first 10 minutes but into the next set after 3 minutes my legs gave out. The next set was about the same. Lift weights didn’t seem to bother me as much. I’m 69 on no medications or pre existing conditions. My massage therapist suggested this could last a couple of months. The irritating part is the drug manufacturers are now saying we will need a booster shot at a later date. That is why I assume the CDC is still saying to wear a mask and social distance even after vaccination. In other words the current vaccine is not protecting against Covid enough and we get to have the unwanted side effects.

How is that irritating? Some vaccines are for long periods of time others aren't.
I'll take vaccine side effects over side effects of actual COVID any day.

Fully Vaccinated here with the Moderna Shot.. The first shot just made my arm sore for a couple of days. The second shot was a different story. The day after the Second shot I woke up feeling like a cold was coming on. I had no fever but body aches, tiredness, and a headache. By 3PM, I was worn out and couldn’t really focus on work. I left early and went to sleep for a few hours and felt better. By the next morning when I woke, I was fine.
