The irritating part is the drug manufacturers are now saying we will need a booster shot at a later date. That is why I assume the CDC is still saying to wear a mask and social distance even after vaccination. In other words the current vaccine is not protecting against Covid enough and we get to have the unwanted side effects.
You do realize that all the covid vaccines are "emergency-approved", meaning, not enough data was collected compared to "normal", eg timeframe cut from 2-3 years to months. Current vaccines have shown to be very effective against Covid, for how long? Only time will tell, and again, not enough time has passed yet for reliable data.
Also, we need to reach some "herd immunity" level to loosen or giving up on restrictions.

Thanks for your comments. Here in Utah we are at herd immunity. Less than 1% of testing shows positive for Covid. Probably because there is under a 400k population below the Greater Salt Lake Northern region of the state. I really didn’t need the vaccine. So I’m bitching about this fatigue effect that could last for an unknown period of time.

How is that irritating? Some vaccines are for long periods of time others aren't.
I'll take vaccine side effects over side effects of actual COVID any day.
You are right for most regions of the country. We are testing at under 1% Covid positive here in Southern Utah. If I had considered the side effects and waited another 5 days the J & J would not have been available for me. I would have blended in with many and lived with the herd immunity we are for all practical purposes living with right now. Under 400k population in S Utah.

Just got the Moderna vaccine 2 hours ago... So far nothing but feeling like I got one hell of titty twister on my arm. took Motrine when I got home. My wife gets her second Moderna in a week. She had nothing but a low grade fever for 24 hours for the first one.

I just got the first Modern shot this past Saturday. Didn't care for the 36 hours of body aches, though. 😒
Wow, that's quite a reaction for the first shot! I'm in my 7th decade, and my second Moderna shot only affected me for a little more than 24 hours. Sure, there was mild discomfort in my arm for a couple more days, but two good night's sleep was all I needed to be back to normal.

Fortunately, I was pretty much back to normal by yesterday.

Day 3 after the first shot..... Other than a very sore shoulder I have had very little issues. Slept in the first morning. Last night I was hungry a lot. I ate a half a box of Ritz crackers. 😂. But pretty much been 100% fine.

Both Phizer shots. No reaction other than some site soreness after the second. Unlike some others have reported, I did not become telepathic or 25 years younger or suddenly irresistable to women.

The news sites are full of articles about how many N95 masks have been made and how many are piling up in the warehouses. They apparently can't even give them away now and you get the impression that they are going to use them for packing material. So why does Amazon and other web merchants still have them locked with "These are reserved for first responders." ?

I got the Pfizer:
* Shot 1: Arm kinda sore-Less than a Flu shot though.
* Shot 2: no arm pain but some mild joint pain for a few days

Conclusion: No Problems for me with the Pfizer. Glad I got it over with!! 😀

Got the AstraZeneca on Wednesday. Felt fine and then went to bed, got the chills and shakes and fever dreams, was very detached from reality for a few hours and then was totally fine. Very weird.

Now I have the weirdest desire to buy a Zune. LOL.

Minor arm soreness for a day or two after the first Moderna shot. Same after the second in addition to a dull headache and general fogginess the day after. I haven't had Covid that I know of; I've heard the reaction to it is easier for those who haven't.

Fine by me, if it means we can live normally I'll take whatever is needed.

Some people already get booster shots for the Flu every year, so this really wouldn’t be too different. If the current crop of vaccines give some baseline level of immunity, I could see the booster shots continuing along the same line (ie: not everyone would need to get it yearly).

But… I’m not a doctor, so I’ll heed the advice of the professionals.

Pfizer et al are now saying we will need to get a booster in 6 months to a year, and then every year after like the flu shot.
They feel there will be enough virus out there mutating that it will be needed. If we can get enough people to get vaccinated, it may not be needed but at this point, with the resistance and world governments mismanagement of the situation, I think it is hopeless to think this is going anywhere quickly.

Moderna 1st shot: Soreness at injection site for a couple days
Moderna 2nd shot: Soreness at injection site for a couple days and headache/ 99.5 temperature day after receiving shot.. No problem exercising or going to work. My sister felt awful for 3 days after 2nd Pfizer shot. Chills, fatigue, body aches, etc. I'd say no way to really know if you'll have mild or more severe reactions to the vaccines..

2nd Moderna shot 10 hours ago. Soreness at the injection site. Been feeling nauseated for the past 6 and some body aches. No fever so far.

1st pfizer - pain at injection site up to the following night
2nd pfizer - pain at injection site up to the following night

No other side effects

I got my 2nd Pfiser Sunday afternoon. Yesterday my shoulder hurt a lot, I had a low grade fever, and finished the day feeling unwell. So far today, no issues.
