We're rolling out vaccines quick in the UK and already talking about giving out shots to healthy young people.

I have asthma so am in a high risk group therefore I got my first shot of the vaccine (AstraZenica) a few months ago. This was before the blood clot thing was on the news, but it sounds like it is a rare side effect and I didn't get any major issues from the first shot, got my second one soon.

As I understand it most of the side effects come from the second shot no matter which vaccine you use so just a little anxious but not too worried. Worst comes to worst I feel crappy for 24 hours and might have to take a sick day. I'll grab myself some Nurofen Plus or something just in case.

1st pfizer - pain at injection site up to the following night
2nd pfizer - pain at injection site up to the following night

No other side effects
Just had my first shot yesterday and this is all I'm experiencing today. Crossing my fingers it'll be the same after the second shot which I've heard tends to be a bit worse.

Both Moderna shots were basically the exact same experience for me. Sore arm for a couple of days, mild headache and fatigue for maybe 24 hours.

I received a 2nd dose of the Pfizer vaccine earlier this week. My arm and shoulder became sore, a lot more sore than after the 1st dose. Maybe a little muscle stiffness in several places as well but not enough to stop normal daily activities. No other side effects so far.

Just had my second shot of AZ. So far no side effects but last time they didn't appear until the next day. Doc told me that I should actually expect less side effects from the second shot with the AZ. Let's see shall we. Last time it was headache for ~12 hours and sore arm for a week. I got some codeine, dihydrocodeine, and paracetamol in case.

Just got the second shot today. A little tired and my arm is sore. Vaccine was administered around 10:50AM. I know a lot of the side effects tend to hit the next day so we shall see.

Next morning after the AZ jab the side effects hit me like a train, way worse than last time, feel very lethargic, very bad headache, and just generally like ****. This is gonna have to be a lay in bed day that's how bad it is.

Luckily the painkillers do help significantly.

I was a light sensitive after my 2nd shot, which led to a headache. Close your shades and limit the brightness of the light in your house and just take a good nap and it will probably help a lot.

You were right. Bit of downtime did a lot of good. Feel pretty much 100% by this point. But I did also take codeine earlier.

The 1st Moderna shot gave me shills and a fever I also felt a bit tired. I'm due for my next shot in about 3 more weeks.

I'm getting my second Pfizer shot this Thursday. I'm a little nervous about it because I don't want to feel like crap. I've heard horror stories about the after effects of the second shot and I'm maybe feeling a bit apprehensive.

Getting sick for a day or 2 is better than getting COVID and ending up in the hospital for weeks to months.

That's true, but I'm only 36 years old so the chances of ending up in a hospital for weeks to months seems a little low, at least according to the science.

First Moderna shot in early April. Sore arm for about three days, tired the next day, bruise that lasted about a week. No other side effects.

Second shot this past Friday, early evening. Felt ok until late yesterday morning, felt like a cold coming on. By last night had 101-102 temp, chills, achy joints, lethargic, didn't feel like doing anything other than laying around and sleeping. Took ibuprofen, that helped with the fever. Didn't sleep much last night, woke up in cold sweats a couple of times. Mild fever back again this morning, 100-101ish, took more ibuprofen and that knocked the fever down. Still feeling achy and sluggish though. I don't have any pain in the arm right now, although is it a little puffy at the injection site. No rash.

I got my second shot on Thursday. I felt good immediately after the shot and through the evening other than a sore arm. Around 3:00 AM Friday Morning though I had to get up to use the Restroom and got a sudden chill, which made me get under the bed covers and hold them like it was 30 degrees and not 60. I was able to get back to sleep but when I woke up I just felt fatigued and tired for most of the day, with a lot of body aches. They were mainly minor aches. I did take a couple naps and then just decided to go to bed immediately after the Giants game. It didn't really knock me out as I still got my walk in and I was able to make dinner. When I woke up yesterday I felt fine other than a little soreness in the arm, but the worst of it was passed. I did take some aspirin and drank a lot of water that day too.

I'm glad I got it, mainly from a mental health perspective. I'm planning to travel some this summer and I just want to see people. I would much rather see people and say I got the vaccine then say I didn't get the vaccine and they look at me like I'm some evil person who should be avoided at all costs.

I took the Pfizer shots

Got mine at my local Costco. Amazing experience. Made an appointment online, got a call to verify my location, went in, sat around for 15 mins, then left both times.

I had my first Moderna shot 4/8/21 and my second Moderna shot 5/6/21. First shot was not bad, arm felt warm and weird but besides that I had no side effects. Arm tiny bit sore, like I lifted weights.

Second shot was a different story. Didn't feel anything the first day, the next day woke up with an arm so sore I could barely lift it up. I got pretty groggy but no headache, no feelings of being sick, just completely out of energy (out of breath going up stairs).

This lasted a few days (arm pain went away day 2) but grogginess didn't go away till 3-4. A week after my shot I feel 100%. That second Moderna shot is no joke but I never felt sick and did not get any headaches so I guess I was lucky - just arm pain and extremely tired for a few days. (Didn't take any pills).

I recently received the second Moderna shot.

First one was uneventful; just some minor arm soreness like a typical shot.

Aside from that, the second one also resulted in some minor chills upon climbing into bed that night, and a feeling of being under the weather/not 100% the next day. Made for a lazy day, but no headaches, fever or nausea.

Next day, back to normal.

I've heard from people who had it worse; some no issues at all. Not going to attempt any correlations, but I think the prudent thing to do is not schedule, or expect to do anything important the following day, as a precaution. And stay hydrated before and after, as advised.
