I've had a root canal, a couple of crowns and a filling so a fair number of appointments. Some of those things take a while to recover from, particularly without anesthetic. Add in West Nile, a small bowel obstruction, and just a lot of weird bugs going around and I'd like to minimize combinatoric risk from vaccinations.
For sure separate times and dates, I'd say. Each one of those events are not trivial. And as you say, no need to possibly complicate things with simultaneous multiple vaccinations.

Just wanted to follow up that after my second dose of Pfizer I had the classic side effects of fever, chills, etc that lasted about a day. Then after 6 months I got my booster and the side effects were far less, some fatigue and headache but that's about it.

I had my first Jab back on October 8th. I felt fine while I was waiting the 15 minutes, but when I got home I started getting a headache, constant feeling of tiredness. Sore arm the following day which lasted 2-3 days after the first jab

Virginia is doing a great job documenting how incredible these vaccines are-

Received my 2nd dose of Coronavac about a month ago. I have experiences no side effects so far. Hope that in the future there will be vaccines with a longer than 1 year validity period.
It will help when we can get the variants under control, unfortunately that also means we need more people vaccinated so it does't have a chance to mutate.

Moderna booster done. Just waiting to see what the side effects will be.
So from the people I have contact with, the only thing I’m hearing is dry mouth, fatigue and maybe a mild headache. I don’t think it’s nearly as severe for some people as it was post second inoculation with the addition of the booster.

You said something interesting. And I guess I didn’t think of this, so you naturally have to wait two weeks from the time you would have your booster shot in order to actually have your flu shot. Essentially, you can’t have them both within a day or so apart. I’m just wondering if this is a recommendation or an advisory.
Doctor giving me my booster, suggested that I wait a couple of weeks for my Flu Shot. Now she also said because it 80 degrees outside we aren't going to see the flu heavy in North Alabama for awhile and if you get a reaction it would be better to know what it was from, I didn't get a reaction (except sore arm) from either but I wanted the booster first because Covid is still bad here and the ER is basically full with Covid people whose right it is to not get a shot. I think its important to get both, I just spread my possible vaccine reactions to two different times. Knowing what I do about the vaccines I don't think interaction is what she was worried about, more like two sore arms, and two vaccine reactions at the same time is miserable. In the 70s when the family was PCSed to West Germany I got like 9 shots in one day, I did not want a repeat of that nightmare from my 6th grade life.

I got my flu shot last week so do I need to wait two weeks for the booster? The latest CDC guidelines say that I can get a booster now but my hospitals are still going by the old CDC guidelines. That's the problem with being up-to-date; a lot of places take a month to catch up on their policies.

Interesting.

As far as cases go, the entire country is basically on an up-tick. And I’ve already said it before, my concern is the holidays are now approaching, which could create even more of a disaster.

The one thing I’m also kind of hearing, is those that are not leaning towards getting the booster, primarily being that they’re not sure if they want a third shot for reasons such as ‘Do I really need it?’ I think that’s the problem when you look at these vaccines, is people like to play the ‘waiting game’. Kind of like an iOS update, right? When Apple releases an update, some like to update right away and others like to wait it out, to see if there’s any real unannounced issues.

The boosters are the exact same thing, though. Half-strength in the case of Moderna.

Some of us do beta testing too.

I have these "side effects" everyday.

I don’t disagree that they’re not the same thing. I think it’s the mindset for people that realize that they aren’t interested in the third shot for XYZ reasons, and I’m willing to wager most consumers probably have no idea that it’s half strength/a lesser amount.

I think it’s also dependent on the type of person that actually cares enough to continue with the vaccine series. Remember, there are some Who are required to have the vaccine because of ‘work guidelines’, but maybe the booster is not part of that requirement.

Got Moderna booster and flu shot last night, same arm, arm felt sore around the injections almost immediately but didn’t impact sleep. Was able to do my normal workout routine this morning with a slight headache…

the booster is targeting a specific set of people, so I can certainly see why those who fall outside of that criteria "don't care" ... until those guidelines change

Many countries have not even had the first shot, the WHO among others have criticized the idea of booster shots rather than helping distribute to developing nations. It does seem to be a money grab (if one were of a cynical frame of mind) given that current evidence states current shots seem to give effective protection.

Well its not a money grab in my case, because I have paid exactly 0 for all 3 shots for me and my wife. If the vaccine were not available, I wouldn't have gotten the 3rd shot, but literally my state has the the lowest vaccination rate in the country and we are second behind Mississippi in Covid deaths vs population. Yes other states have more deaths but deaths per million inhabitants we are number 2, and working hard at taking that top spot. In August, the state of Alabama destroyed over 65,000 doses of vaccine because they expired, I drive by 6 places that will give you a Covid vaccination for free on the 11 minute drive from my house to work, never is there a line. My state is still less then 50% fully vaccinated, but at least the health department was clever and during the end of July before we destroyed the vaccine, we got our prison inmates up to like 90% vaccinated, it was that or destroy even more vaccine. Its pretty crazy the high school kids when the vaccine was in short supply in March and April would actually show up at the end of the day and get the last shots in the bottles to keep it from being thrown away, but now they are all mostly vaccinated so we don't have the younger generation putting the shots to good use. We have almost two million shots available in Alabama right now. I would love to tell you that they are all going to get used, but I don't believe that at all, the governor wanted so much and got alot and the only way we will get close to running short in my opinion is if we get the go ahead for the 5-12 year olds to get vaccinated that they are talking about. My first Alma Mater (Auburn) is going to fire every employee who isnt vaccinated by December 8th as part of the federal mandate, and literally our $5M a year head football coach probably isnt vaccinated (and will be terminated on December 8th before he completes his first year if he doesnt get his shots) and our team has the lowest vaccination rate in the SEC. Yet, our largest rivals (Alabama, Georgia and LSU) all are at 95%+ and our opponent this week (Ole Miss) has 100% shots in all players, coaches and personnel. I wish we could send the shots to those who would actually use them, but I don't know how to do that. All I can do is encourage everyone to get their shots and pick people up and take them to get them, which I do whenever crisis services finds someone that says they wish they had a ride to get it.

I got the moderna booster last Friday......on Saturday there was just a mild soreness in the area of the injection, and that was gone by Sunday evening

I received a Pfizer booster a few days ago. I had some soreness in my arm and a mild headache on days 1 and 2. Other than that, no major side effects.

My first two doses were Pfizer. I obtained a flu shot about a month before the COVID booster.

Looking forward, it would be great if a nasal spray COVID vaccine was developed over the next year or so. Then the immune response in perhaps the two most critical areas for infection and transmission, nose and lungs, can be primed for battle.
