CPW - now preordering for delivery on the 11th online...

Just spoke to CPW on the phone, the guy was friendly but not really that helpful. Said it was normal to get out-of-stock e-mail, but he couldn't confirm "yet" whether I had got one of the original stock allocation. I also asked if I could change my order to have it delivered to store rather than home, and he said he "was pretty sure" that they would only deliver to home address. He sounded like he was just guessing at this though and couldn't be ar**ed to find out, so I think I'll call back later and ask somebody else.
Do you think after cancelling CPW ridiculous £11 odd insurance we will be able to get the O2 insure premier?

I suspect that's normal as for preorders they don't view the item as being in stock.
How did you get to the order tracking? When I click the link in the confirmation email it asks me to sign up for online billing, which I can't do as I don't have an account number (yet)!
Yes, I had that problem too, try this though:
Go to the CPW web site
CLICK ON A DIFFERENT TAB FROM THE "HOME" ONE (I used "Pay Monthly)
Scroll down to the bottom of the page
Under "My Account" click "Order Tracking" and you should just be able to enter your number.

Somehow I don't think we'll be getting them tomorrow though!
Still no indication as to whether I can expect my iPhone on Friday though or whether I'm going ot be waiting for the next batch
Do you need your PAC code to order online and via quidco or can we port the number on Friday?
I don't know if you need it, but it gives you the option to enter it (and the phone number) during the order process.
Edit: I just noticed this:

... which says for transfers *to* O2 it must be provided at point of sale (not after).

Which makes no sense
I ticked that I wanted to keep my existing number when I ordered, but I must have missed the box for my PAC code so didn't enter it. When I phoned to ask if I could just do this at a later date, the CPW man said that he thought they could only do it at the point of sale, so he passed my PAC code on to the Internet Order Processing Team (or whatever it was he said they were called)
Yep O2 say not able to port after start contract, still not recieved PAC from Orange. So guess will have to wait till friday and miss out on the £60 quidco rebate.

Just noticed on quidco website its actually only £20 off in ~3months. Not that great, may just stick in store.

What time did you place your order? My order acknowledgement e-mail was at 11:53 and I'm at Stage 2
I ordered the 8GB via CPW earlier and much like others I have received the Out of Stock email which I would expect to get with a pre-order. Since then I have received a text from CPW saying:
"Dear MR [SURNAME]. Your order has been placed and will be delivered to our [MY STORE] branch. Kind Regards The Carphone Warehouse."
So all being well I can pick mine up from Store on 11th.

still at stage one here - ordered 10 mins after they started taking orders. not porting a number or anything. so no idea whether they actually have stock or not. i guess if no more news go and queue on friday and send one back if it comes?

Mine arrived at 12:08 and I'm at Stage 1.
though I did get an "out of stock" email at 12:31 which I was assured is standard fro pre orders.
