CPW - now preordering for delivery on the 11th online...

8:02 is early enough. That gives at least one O2 store and possibly the apple store (they didn't look to be preparing by weekend though.. no signs up).

Then there's the TC if they get permission to open at 8am that's got 2 O2s and Apple Store.

Hello. Long time lurker, fist time poster.

But yeah, I just thought i'd share my experience.
After getting rather frustrated with the O2 website, I just went to CW and ordered my 16GB from there, even though it stated out of stock.

I opted to pick it up at my local CW in Nottingham.

I got my order confirmation e-mail at 12:29
Later I got the standard out of stock e-mail at 12:55.

I then popped to CW around 2PM because I wanted to ask about my existing contract and keeping my old number because I basically started my contract afresh. The person who I was talking to was rather helpful and took a look at the orders list and well and behold, my name was there on the computer screen saying my order was there and gone through.

He then said that they will open at 9 on the 11th, but they won't get their delivery till around 9:30 - 10 that say, so I should pop in around 11 so I could pick up my reserved iphone.

But you know, there's still time for things to go wrong.. I'm the pessimistic type. :)

True, its just there are loads of them, and cant afford to Q for hours or to risk O2 selling out of 16gigers.

If I wear a badge saying no insurance (already covered) and no accessories thank you very much and lets pretend I survive the CPW ordeal, once am out into the real world again will I have anything different from getting it at O2? e.g Terms/Conds, warranty, ability to drop down after 9 months etc?
 
I ordered a 16gb one from their site earlier today. Got confirmation email. All is good and well. 6 minutes later..

I got this along with a Order Number also got a texts say your order is placed and will be delivered to your address.

Is this good or bad news? Do people think I will get it on the 11th? I don't mind if I have to wait until Monday but any longer would be taking the piss :D

You're in the same situation as me, we will most likely get ours **14th July.

i think everyone who placed an order on CW got this e-mail.
is there anyone out there who hasn't had this e-mail? i believe it's just a standard e-mail they send out 'just in case' something messes up along the way; the delivery man nicking off with a shipment of iphones for example.
 
im in the same situation , recieved 2 emails, 1 for confirmation and 1 for out of stock , does it make any difference i selected to get it posted to local store, hopefully will get there on friday its 3days away remember

I ordered a 16gigger from cpw just before 13:00. Got confirmation email 13:06 but no out of stock email. Order has just moved to stage 2. Pr'aps CPW twigged the confusion and stopped the email for later orders?
 
and when you say moved to stage two, do you mean on the order tracker where there are three boxes, and that only stage one has been complete i.e. stage 2 and 3 are still the dark colour?

isn't this fun - we want to give companies money and they really don't seem to want it ;)

2 is light blue, one and three are dark.

Oh, and I opted for store pick up in Norfolk (just in case we think regional stock level are playing a part here)
 



this is what mine looks like.
like i said, it's basically gone through and it showed up at my local CW's computer system.

Can you log onto cpw site to check your order if so how the only login I can find is the bit about billing and you need info I don't have to set that up.

Yeah looks like It going to track at £60 :D but if they do change it to £20 it's better than nothing.

you can check by going here: https://www.mycarphonewarehouse.com/portal/servlet/gben-ordertrack-OrderTrack?

and entering in your transaction number which is found in the first e-mail you got, the order confirmation.

i'm not sure what time mine changed to 2, but i got home around 5:30 and it had already changed by then.

to be honest i think it has something to do with the actual credit and credential checks rather than the ordering and reservation, unless it needs to be on stage 2 before they actually reserve the phone for you.

Thanks for that it says ''Your order contains an item which is out of stock. We will deal with your order as soon as possible.. Your order should arrive on Tue, 08 Jul 2008'' :)
