A rogue tech repair employee(s) shared pictures they shouldn’t have. That unfortunate incident has nothing to do with privacy security technology and product user policy. The poster who put this forth isn’t trying to make a good argument, they’re trying to make a good slogan.so, seriously? A customer willingly gave her phone with explicit photos, did not purchase one of the many password protected files apps available, willingly gave her password so the phone could be repaired. Two shmucks, who ought to be in jail, perused her phone and stole pictures. Yah, totally apple's fault and denotes weak security on the customers part, not on Apple's. I have no idea why they paid, glad they did, but don't understand the reason. I would venture to say that anyone who gives any device and the password to that device can get their data stolen. Just sayin
Apple is factually and indisputably significantly out in front on privacy security for wide spread device/technology usage. For their own individual reasons, this infuriates a handful of those who dislike/hate Apple. But look at their posts and you’ll see extremely little in the way of a tangible argument. They’ll point to a rogue employee’s personal actions, use slogans such as “you think Apple can do no wrong” and the ever present glib “they all do it”. But again look at the substance of their posts to see there is no substance.
Apple chose to not make money from gathering as much personal information as possible from users. This wasn’t an altruistic move, it was how Apple saw better business profitability. Others, Facebook and Google, built their business profitability around massive user data mining. There isn’t anyway around this factual reality and this is why Apple is way in front while Facebook gets angry and Google slow walks security privacy.
It’s all about business profitability. Apple is rapidly expanding privacy security because it doesn’t affect their profit, they likely see increased profit from it, and the added benefit of it squeezes their data mining relying competition. But at the end of the day their motivations are immaterial. Apple is currently the clear choice for privacy security. The posters who argue against this reality will continue with slogans and inane non sequitors but ultimately don’t have an argument against the fundamental reality of Apple’s crystal clear lead on this.
