Curious, how do all of you afford your MBP?

i sold my body every night of the week, until i saved enough money to buy a MBP. They were the longest 6 years of my life.

14 years old here, finally got enough saved up

made the money by working my ass off spreading mulch this summer for 6 bucks an hour

+1 on all the congratulations! that is one valuable laptop, more than the pricetag.

First laptop I ever wanted was the 1997 Powerbook 2400c, it cost $3499 and I had about $2000 in my bank account as a graduate student with a $16k/year fellowship. Couldn't do it. Had to save up and sleep on it for over a year. Then I had enough money and prices came down. I bought my Powerbook G3 (Lombard) for $2399 from Cyberian Outpost (are they still around?) the day after they came out in July 1999. I upgraded 3 times after that (having better paying jobs later on made it easier), but that is still my most memorable Mac purchase. Loved it so much I only parted with it years after I stopped using it.
