I had a nightmare, waited 5 hours for my 16GB white. It had 3 stuck pixels, one really annoying, another minor and the third that disappeared on its own. Made a genius bar appointment and the replacement they brought out had a stuck pixel. I told them no thanks, the next one had a piece of dust stuck under the glass. I gave up and will try again one of these days soon....

BTW I used this web app in store on the phones to check:

My opinion is that Apple's quality control is awful, 3 phones and not one of them met my standards.

Thank god

Just ran the test and my 16 gig Black 3G Iphone is perfect. Not 1 dead pixel!

My first white 16GB had dust under the screen, my second has two dead pixels. I went to the Genius Bar today and the employees were not in agreement about how many constitutes replacement (One genius thought I needed three). They looked it up in their knowledge base and confirmed that with iPhones 1 or more is enough.

Sadly, the store was out of repair stock. He did, however, order one for me which he said I can pick up in a couple of days.

None.

My friend had one. She went to the iPod bar about another issue, the guy noticed the single pixel and offered her a replacement.

Unfortunately the replacement had a faulty silence switch and had to be returned two hours later. Apple Regent Street were then out of stock (and said they would be until Tuesday) so she has the stuck-pixel-one back for now.

I just picked up my 16gb black from ATT today (7/22/08) and there is one dead pixel. Phone is perfect in every other way.

I have an appt w/ apple tomorrow after work to give them their phone back. :)

I just exchanged my iPhone 3G yesterday due to one small dead pixel seen only on an all black screen. The one I got in exchange is perfect. The guy at the genius bar said the pixel policy on the iPhone is much different than their laptops and such. He said if there is just one dead pixel they will exchange it because the screen is so small.

Just went to the genius bar today.

They would NOT replace my iPhone for one stuck pixel. Said I needed three of them, but if it spread in the one year after purchase I can replace it.
