My first gen iPad has basically stayed at home but mostly because I have little room to carry it along with my other stuff I lug to work. I can easily bring my kindle which I do, so the mini represents the best of both worlds to me. Providing the functionality and flexibility of the iPad but in a size that makes it much better for me to commute with.
