Wow, this thread seems to have petered out in the last couple of days. Have folks given up on the new MBPs?
Great price? What? The cheapest 17" is $1599 open box at MacMall, and it is a 2008 model! Great price, per se,
It really can't be long now guys. Fingers crossed for this week! It would be a great move for Apple to announce them at the same time as the iPad with all the extra attention they'll be getting this week and next.
Cheers,

In other words: WWDC.just spoke to an applecare employee and he told me they will be released "sometime in april or may"![]()
In other words: WWDC.
Sure, Apple is going to release a major overhaul of the whole MacBook-line merely weeks before WWDC by simply updating the online-shop, no big event, nada. Sure.

Is it already time to call it another disappointing Tuesday!?
I think so...
"Not to worry" - my a**.
When is WWDC , exact dates?
WWDC 2010 Likely from June 28-July 2nd
A tweet and article (and forum post) have pointed out that Moscone's summer schedule has blocked out June 28th-July 2nd as the likely dates for Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) 2010.
The schedule lists a "Corporate Event" occupying Moscone West during those dates. For the past two years this "Corporate Event" placeholder has accurately predicted the dates for WWDC (2008, 2009). Apple tends not to announce the official dates of WWDC until well into the new year.
As I really don't think that the MBP-update-delay is caused by the iPad launch, I just wanted to throw another update-theory in the ring:
What about the not-yet-fixed turbo boost problem?
A higly renowned german it-mag writes about some problems with bios and the turbo boost of the i5 and i7... They report that Acer - for example - can not provide the full range of turbo boost and Dell even disabled the power-saving function (and with that also the turbo boost). To-date there seems to be NO bios fix for that!!!
So what if apple is having the same problems and for that reason holding back the update (because they want to fix problems before selling, and don't want the customers to be the guinea pigs)!?
