Dear CVS,
I'll have your Bankruptcy papers at the ready...
But when an improved process is invented, I can choose to support it, and not support those who actively try to thwart it.
I will continue to support retailers who haven't yet implemented ApplePay. I understand evolution takes time. But I will actively avoid those who are actively refusing ApplePay.
The thing is that Apple nor Google will adopt MCE.
Apple will certainly never adopt it (NFC not open to devs) while you my get a 3rd party app on Android.
Well dears, it appears the sky is falling in...

Any last requests, before all these companies go bankrupt from all the MR members "boycotting" them? (I actually don't believe any of these folk with their faux "threats", leave the internet long enough to go and do any shopping)
Meijer is actually an Apple Pay partner... who knows what the story is....
Walgreens is fully behindHmm, Rite-Aid and now CVS.
When Walgreens decides to join in and not accept Apple Pay as well, it's going to leave all of those people who will "take their business elsewhere if they don't accept Apple Pay" without a drug store to shop at.
Agreed! I live in Canada, but I recently visited the US and it's a bit backwards to what I'm used to. We have NFC terminals almost everywhere. I even paid for a taxi ride with a portable payment device with NFC.
I was pleasantly surprised when I visited a Wegmans supermarket in Niagara Falls, NY and paid via Visa PayWave with my Canadian Visa card.
In Canada, we have NFC terminals almost everywhere. Any card or device that has this capability is eligible. I can use my Android phone or my credit card.
I don't understand why a retailer would restrict types of payment. They are shooting themselves in the foot. Seems very un-American.
Walgreens is fully behindPay ...
I can respect that. My objections in these threads are those who are being over dramatic about it and want to take it out on the cashiers and other patrons at these stores in "protest."
Want to not patronize a store and vote with your wallet (or e-wallet) then go ahead...

It's going to be pretty rough for them.
Some of us really appreciate Apple and their attempts to protect privacy in this new solution.
Accept that Walgreens already partnered with Apple so exactly how would that happen?
For now, yes. But earlier this week, people thought CVS was fully behind Apple Pay as well.

Just saying.
Agreed. I would never purposely fill up a cart at a store that I knew was going to refuse ApplePay and then walk out at the register. But if I honestly expected ApplePay to work and then was caught off guard by a sudden change in policy (not just a terminal that may be down) then I might be inclined to make a statement and say that I will buy my goods elsewhere and leave.
Let's see. CurrentC has Pay doing a lap a whole year before it even attempts to come to market. And even though it has Best Buy and Walmart backing it (I believe), it literally will miss even being noticed because let's face it. Apple does things easier better faster and users just tend to like the association to this popular company. Can you hear it? "Yeah man! I just used CurrentC for the first time! It's revolutionary!" What a joke. It died the day Apple announced Pay. Dead upon arrival.
Oh please. If you don't understand the difference, you shouldn't be posting.
That wasn't "earlier this week," it was written September 5th (before ApplePay was even announced on September 9th). Obviously the speculation was incorrect. Did the CVS logo ever appear on Apple's list of partners?
