[D&D] The Lost Mines of Phandelver

You scramble to your feet. Your fall into unconsciousness and sequent healing sapped your of most of your strength; but you dig deep into your reserves, and dug up sufficient to push yourself forward for a retaliatory strike against the ailing monstrosity.

But it wasn't quite enough -- the monstrosity stumbled backwards, sending a screech through your head that sent you reeling to your knee with a headache that almost blinds you, your blade hitting the ground.
Suddenly, you hear a scream full of rage and grief. For a instant, you weren't sure if you heard it, or it was only in your head.
Your answer came quickly enough; Bartholomeo charged past you, swinging his greataxe over his head. He leaps --

The air suddenly filled with insane rage that would've destroyed your mind if only it has continued for an instant longer. Then an abrupt and absolute silence hits your mind and nearly knocks you out again.

Recap: You are in a natural cavern with a crevasse along the middle, spanned by two bridges; one is right next to the column where you are clustered at, and one further away opposite the entrance you came in. You can see four passages going out of the cavern; a clearly man-made passage opens up near where you are, leading down a staircase. Another opening, directly opposite and across the nearby bridge, leads down a hallway. You see another, large entrance opposite the one you came in through, beyond the second column and bridge. This entrance is actually a torn-down -- or destroyed -- wall, and leads into a chamber. And you see the last entrance, along the same wall as the first entrance, but you cannot see where it may lead.

@ravenvii, I'm having a difficult time visualizing the map. Could you please paste in a rough drawn sketch.
All, great job in the battle. We should take a short rest (1 hour) to recover before heading on. I would probably recommend the chamber to rest.

Went to Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel with 6 of my friends. We had a blast, but I missed the kiddos and I"m happy to be home.

Sounds like a blast. Jamaica was beautiful. Well, the nice parts anyway -- I was in Kingston the majority of the time (went as a volunteer).
Anyway, as requested, a sad little crude drawing; hopefully you get what the picture is trying to say combined with my description above.

Too bad, it's one of those stay in the compound tourist destinations, if part of a cruise, likely a stay on the tourist dock stop. 🙂

I don't think resting where we are is a good idea. Too many openings to guard and we are visible standing out in the open. The chamber or heading back outside might be a good place to rest.
The party leaves the body of the creature behind and retreads their steps across the bridge, then forwards deeper into the cavern.
Past the second column, they come upon the opening. The wall has been broken through or taken down. However, there are no debris around the opening, so you surmise this may have been done purposefully.

This area is the north end of a large natural cavern, but it has been finished with dressed stone block walls and a flagstone floor. Several barrels are stored against the walls here, along with a number of empty crates, straw for packing, hammers, pry bars and nails.
The cavern continues for some distance to the south. You can make out several passages that open up off the larger cavern, and what looks like a deep pit or crevasse in the floor.
You find that the chamber is relatively quiet and inactive, and you were able to rest, recovering all your energy and magic.The cavern continues for some distance to the south. After resting, I suggest we explore the vicinity of the finished area and barrels. We might find something that's useful in our exploration in general and possible discovery of the mansion's basement door.
Do we need to declare prepared spells? What is the level status of the Party? I assume Barty is back with us? We'd probably talk about what his experience.

@ravenvii, could you please add the chamber to the sketch you made. I'm still trying to visualize it. Is the party at full hit points after the rest ? Also, arcane recovery allows magic users to recover one spell slot after a short rest but I see nothing like that for clerics. Are both Dalo and Veit currently down one spell slot ?
Everyone survived the battle and @ravenvii will verify that everyone is at full health. Both you and Veit should declare prepared spells at the start of a day. I'm assuming that @ravenvii is just going by the default list you gave earlier.
I'm wondering if this chamber is the basement. We have successfully rested so go ahead and search the barrels and anything else of interest in the chamber.

I was hoping that this chamber was the creature's lair and that it would contain some treasure. Someone should search the creature's body to see if it was carrying anything. We should probably completely search this chamber and the passages within this chamber before heading to the other hallways near the bridges.

Thought the same (basement & lair). So as i said: please let veit check the chamber thoroughly. Afterwards I'll go and check what's left of the spideye - also if there are signs where s/he has came from before.
If we're in the basement where's that staircase leading to?
After checking the dead body I'll head to each entrance and have a good look, waiting some moments if any noises can be heard.

I thought the stairway going down was out in the entrance cavern near the two bridges. I don't believe we saw any stairway in the chamber (basement ? ).

Excellent idea, the eyeball might include valuable enchanted items... ya never know.
Veit goes rummaging through the barrels and crates. He doesn't find anything valuable, but found a good number of beaver pelts, which may be worth something back in town.
As you were looking, you pause -- you notice something peculiar about the easternmost wall. As you move closer, you suddenly realized -- it's a secret door! The door was made of stone that blends into the rest of the wall.
