With a grunt, Veit dropped the right leg of the oozing and reeking corpse of the creature. The party has dragged the creature all the way to the other side of the crevasse, down the stairs, and propped its body against the door. The body was heavy, but was not an issue for five able-bodied adventurers.
Eager to spare their noses of further abuse, Bartolomeo and Dale joins Claus out of sight in the storage chamber as Portia scratches the door and scurries out of sight just as it is swung open by an angry Redbrand.
"Agghhhh!" the Redbrand scrambles backwards as the creature's body collapses into the room.
The party hears shouts of disgust and anger as the Redbrands attack the creature. It took them a few stabs before they realized the creature was dead.
You hear more shouting -- you make out the voices of four Redbrands.
More shouting follows, then suddenly silence. You hear the guttural growls of another species -- you are suddenly reminded of Klarg.
Bugbears?
Here?
One of them suddenly appears in the southwestern entrance to the crevasse, looking around and growling, its Morningstar out and ready.
"Come, you *********! Search the area!" you hear the Bugbear shout. A goblin appears from behind him. It takes a few timid steps forwards.
"Move, or you will be dinner tonight!" the bugbear shouts, giving the goblin a kick, sending it sprawling. It scrambles to its feet, its face stuck in a look of terror.
It scurries across the bridge, and slowly approaches the storage chamber where the party is hiding. As it approaches, it suddenly spots you hiding in the corners.
"You -- you don't --"
The goblin stares at you in pure terror before toppling over. The goblin has fainted from fright.
