Samsung today kicked off a special "Discover Samsung" event, which will be a week-long savings event focusing on Samsung monitors, smartphones, TVs, appliances, and more. While some deals will stick around the entire week (through March 26), others will refresh every day.

The highlight of the new sale is Samsung's 32-inch Smart Monitor M8 for $449.99 in Warm White, down from $699.99. Samsung's Smart Monitor M8 has a design very similar to the new 24-inch iMacs, and it uses USB-C charging connectivity and includes AirPlay support.

Only the Warm White color is available at this low price, while all others are seeing a $549.99 price tag. Compared to past sales, this is the best price we've seen on the Smart Monitor M8 so far in 2023, and is an overall second-best price when looking at sales from the 2022 holiday season.

The M8 houses a 4K UHD flat LCD panel providing 400 nits of brightness, a 60Hz refresh rate, HDR support, and adaptive picture technology that automatically adjusts display brightness and color temperature for viewing comfort. The M8 chassis is 11.4mm thin, which is 0.1mm thinner than Apple's iMac, and it includes a flat back, thin bezels, and a height adjustable stand with tilt functionality.

Integrated into the display is Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 4.2 wireless connectivity, one micro HDMI port, and two USB-C ports one of which offers 65W of charging output for a phone and notebook.

Besides the Smart Monitor M8, we've rounded up a few other items you can get on sale during the Discover Samsung event. These include savings on memory, monitors, and TVs, and remember that you can check back every day for fresh deals. One of the best deals in this sale is Samsung's curved 55-inch Odyssey Ark 4K monitor for $1,999.99 ($1,000 off).
Head to our full Deals Roundup to get caught up with all of the latest deals and discounts that we've been tracking over the past week.

I no longer want processors in *anything*

The world was a much better, nicer and friendly place before digital washing machines, and everything worked just fine. Better in fact. Washing machines lasted 30 years. The clothes came out cleaner too.
And digital cars…

And could someone please explain what makes this monitor “iMac-like”? As far as I know, you still need to plug in your PC to this thing

Irregardless we are waiting to see what price the 5K 27" Viewfinity S9 display will go for. The M8 is only a 32" 4K display. The S9 will offer a Firewire connectivity, which is better then USB for Macs.

The ViewFinity S9 will support a wide mix of I/O, including HDMI, Thunderbolt 4, USB-C, and DisplayPort. It can charge laptops at up to 96 watts. The S9’s sleek design and metal enclosure are in keeping with Apple’s Studio Display and LG’s higher-end OLED monitors.

Cool. Now tell us when the 5K Viewfinity S9 is being released and what it'll cost.
I got tired of waiting and purchased the Apple Studio Display back when it was on sale for $1299. I still am in the return window (Costco) for a while. So interested to see what it the Viewfinity gets priced at as it does have some features the ASD doesn't that I'd be interested in.

Unfortunately no vesa mounting on the M8. I know why, but it’s still unfortunate because I need that.

Yep. I'd like to see CES-announced Dell Ultrasharp 6k 32 inch too before buying a monitor. Based on the marketing info so far, it has a good webcam and speakers which would work fine for my working environment.

In the meantime I'm looking at a 32 in 4K HP monitor that isn't the flimsy plastic variety of most these days. Should be fine for my development work. The only S9 release date I've seen was May/June this year and haven't seen any release date window for the Dell Ultrasharp 6k 32 inch

I can't stand the webcam blob on the Dell 6K.

Not the OP but I don't use the stands on monitors. I mount mine to an arm attached to the back of my desk to maximize desk space and reduce clutter. My Mac Studio is mounted under my desk for the same reason. Depending on what I'm working on I like to move the monitor closer or further from my seat. Much easier to do when it is on an arm.

I bought this the last time Mac Rumors featured it for sale a month or so ago. It’s a great monitor. Yes, the scaling is a little imperfect for Mac, but it’s a beautiful monitor that has lots of features. Maybe the most important is the monitor can be raised and lowered on its stand. A simple task to be sure and that feature of sorts on the Apple displays will cost at least $400 I believe.

It’s not perfect, but the value is incredible versus anything Apple will sell you. That being said, I bought it as I needed a monitor to go with my MacBook, and I am waiting for Apple to come out with another monitor offering that makes sense. It has to be above the Studio Display and cost less than the Pro Display XDR currently does. I believe in five to ten years, Apple will finally have the micro LED technology ready for large monitors. That will be the perfect time to upgrade.

I have a 24” Samsung 4K monitor, and I would definitely not go any bigger without a resolution bump.
I have dual 27” Dell 4K monitors and the resolution is fine for me, mostly because I sit a solid 2-3 feet back from the monitors. If I were to put my nose up to I’d see a pixel density difference compared to my 14” MBP, but I don’t really notice it in regular use, even compared to a 5K screen.

Going bigger than 27” though I think you’d definitely notice a sharpness difference though (32” and higher) so at that point 5K and 6K is the way to go.
