The 24” iMac has way more than 4K pixels, 11,289,600 to be precise.
Yes, true. I sloppily wrote that in the shorthand of display sizes (4K, 5K, etc) which refer to the approximate number of horizontal pixels.

Apple markets the M1 iMac screen as "4.5K" because it's approximately 4.5K pixels wide (4480).

How do you like yours? I’ve been considering this monitor for a while, but never bit the bullet on it.
The M8 is ok, I wish it were a little sharper and not as washed out, but I do having sitting next to a 5K display. But for the cost (I got it for $399 with the VESA mount) it was worth it. I don't think I would spend more than $5-600 on it as there are better options i that price range.

This monitor does not support Airplay 2 (with 4K). However, it is only supported via a USB-C cable.

I no longer want processors in *anything*

The world was a much better, nicer and friendly place before digital washing machines, and everything worked just fine. Better in fact. Washing machines lasted 30 years. The clothes came out cleaner too.
Agreed. Years ago I returned a much larger smart tv for a regular, smaller tv and can’t believe it was the last of its breed. Everything is a smart tv now whether you want it or not.

Well, again a Monitor with a PPI out of Mac UI range 110 or 220 ppi

It is 137,6817 PPI so that is the first no go.
Bad Speakers and the Plastic Colors are ugly.
No Vesa Mount.

Not my cup of Tea.

Yeah. I don't get people that think the way some do. Being completely against a company makes no sense. I own many Apple products but I also have a Samsung TV and a Samsung tablet. Somehow this is considered wrong by people.
Samsung is the apple's n1 enemy when it regards to pc, phones, tablets etc. But samsung makes also many other stuff. i have tv, washing machine, X5 ssd (one of best ssd's ever), and many other "minor" devices. And, actually considering what apple became, i m certainly more against it than to samsung...

I bought the M8 to use as an extended monitor on my 2017 iMac 27”. Unfortunately it was a spur-of-the moment purchase, I did not see the comments here before I bought. I am relatively satisfied, it looks ok sitting next to my computer. There are some issues with washed out colors and sharpness of text in some programs I use. I don’t plan on activating the wifi. If I had seen the comments in this thread before purchase I would not have bought it. The connections on the rear are very difficult to access so don’t plan on doing any cable swapping. If you buy one of these, hook your cables up before putting the monitor in position.
