So I just got an email that said both of my items were cancelled. “This item flew off our shelves and isn’t available anymore.”

Bummer. I’m guessing they had a really limited supply.

That really sucks. I would contact AT&T customer support and tell them that you expect to get your cases. If they were sold out, they should have put "sold out" on the item AND stopped allowing people to process orders!

If I get that email, I am calling AT&T and demanding I get my cases at the same price. I am an AT&T customer with a solo account (on a New York State Government employee account - which really just gives me a 20% discount on my bill and I do not have to pay any activation fees or crap like that) and have been with them forever, and they are usually good at getting things made right. I will ask them to send me one of the leather cases that was not on sale for $5, and one of the silicone cases that was not on sale for $5! Remember, "the customer is always right!!!" Haha.

Same here. I hate AT&T I used to be with them for so many years.

Just got my order cancel email as well.
Guess that I will give them a piece of my mind since I have been with them for over 13 years and is ready to give them the middle finger.

I did not get a cancellation email yet, however, if I do get one, I am doing the same exact thing that you plan on doing!

Edit: I just got my cancellation email and you best believe tomorrow I am calling them up and giving them hell! I want an Apple leather case that was not on sale that they in stock, and same with the silicone case. It is not our fault that AT&T did not pull the products when they sold out and allowed us to process our damn orders! They are not going to have fun dealing with me!

I suppose I’ll try to call tomorrow as well.

We have nothing to lose, but something to gain! AT&T better make this right, especially for AT&T customers. I am not trying to say that non-AT&T customers should not get their orders, but AT&T should treat its customers right!

My order was cancelled last night, too. Pretty pathetic of AT&T to take so many orders, first delay shipment by a month, and then cancel it.
Has anyone who called them had any luck?

I'll be calling sometime soon, and I will try to get back on the forum and post how things went. Otherwise it will be after noon until I can post back.

What a crock:

They had some overstock and dropped the price and instead of managing inventory like every online site does, they just sold a ton of them, realizing they were going to lose money, they just cancelled the orders.

I got the same email today and chatted them online. They told me to call so I did. First the rep asked if I was adding a line or upgrading, then told me my order was cancelled because they tried to deliver and I wasn't home, then finally figured out it was a stock out. No resolution, supposedly made a note in my account but I was too fed up to keep talking with them. So much incompetence. **** AT&T

Macrumors should really report this story, AT&T is abusing their customers as usual. Even if it's over a small amount of money that's all they do is nickel and dime their customers to death.

Well, that sucks. Also received the email this morning after first receiving the delay email on the 12th. Hope I'm still able to get the cases by calling them.

What a crock:

...

I wonder if the pricing was a mistake to begin with, and that mistake wasn't realized for a while. Then they had to decide what to do about the mistake. I don't see why they would have needed to discount those particular items nearly that much in order to quickly move even a lot of them. Perhaps they were meant to be discounted by $5 instead of to $5?

Anyway, I'm in much the same situation as others. I ordered a couple of cases on Friday. Got a confirmation email. Then later got an email saying the shipment would be delayed until March. Then this morning got the cancellation email.

Mistakes happen; it isn't the end of the world. But, at least in circumstances such as these, I expect mistake makers to pay for their mistakes. If they were going to cancel orders so as to avoid losing a bunch of money, they should have done that immediately. The delay, confirming that orders would eventually be fulfilled, and then later cancelling them, doesn't seem like good faith to me.

Tried calling again, they're so full of crap. This rep said "I probably didn't accept the terms and conditions so the order was cancelled" just total BS. Then he says they probably are having website issues. This just blows my mind. I hate letting this get under my skin but AT&T is pure garbage.

And it is for just damn cases. Not sure how much they will lose if they really screwed up.
Cathay Pacific honored their mistake on the first class flight pricing snafu which was priced for about 10% of the actual price. TWICE!

I got the same email this morning. I checked the order status on the website and it still show as in progress. If they cancel my order, it will be the final straw and the push I needed to finally leave AT&T for good.

Edit: order is now showing cancelled.

Awesome. They may suck for misleading about 5G, but these cases for $5 rock. I got the leather taupe and the speck folio for my X and a white silicone for my lady's XS.

Follow up... well the Speck delivered. But just got a notice (11 days after ordering) that they cancelled the leather/silicone cases. So turns out they do still suck and mislead about $5 cases just as much as they do about 5G.

Just got the email as well. Extremely disappointed. I had talked to bestbuy on the phone over the weekend and I believe if you show customer service the confirmation email proving the case was $5 they might price match it

Well...my order got cancelled yesterday (iPhone X taupe leather case.) Couldn't fulfill my order.

So it’s looking like every order was cancelled? I’m so glad I’m not an AT&T who has to deal with this on the regular. I agree MacRumors should do a follow up story.

Same. I ordered mine the day it was published on 9to5toys (Feb 8) and just got an email that mine has been cancelled for the same reason.

Classic Bait & Switch. Offer an impossibly good deal to get people in the virtual door and then have no stock and then direct people to the rest of the store. The real galling part is that they initially delayed shipping until a specific date and *then* canceled the order several days later.
