Bought it... I like rapidweaver. It's the same price at it's own website.

But my favorite FTP is not free anymore(Transmit), so I guess I'd rather try out Forklift. Cyberduck just isn't stable enough.

I probably won't even use the other 8 apps!!!

I guess for me it was a 2 for 1!

Transmit is worth every penny!

in the last bundle i didn't want the tech tools, never need them and everybody was excited about them.

Me neither. Tech Tools was not a draw for me at all, and it was worth the most money by far!

I was happy just getting GraphicConverter back on my Mac (oh how I love it!!), and GarageSale as well. :)

...I find Yep the most useful being I have a great deal of ebooks and manuals on my computer. Nice to get to them in one place. I'm also having fun setting up as I found things I didn't even remember I had.

Yes, Yep is a big deal for me.

I'm trying Papers right now to organize my PDFs (academic ones), and it has the same shortcomings as simply naming the PDFs by name and author, and then putting them into folders .......some of my files belong under 3-4 different categories and can't really be put into one folder. If I'm going to keep them all under one category, I may as well just keep my filing system currently in place. I hate it, but Papers is no better. It automatically downloads author information and such, but who cares? I can barely remember the authors names anyway. I just need to search by keywords and topics.

Papers doesn't let me select ONLY papers that are about MOSFET dosimeters, TLDs, and HDR brachytherapy (for example). I can organize them into individual MOSFET, TLD, and HDR brachy selections, which is very useful, but I can't search for a paper meeting all 3 criteria easily. With tags, I could. I'd need around 20 or 25 tags to properly sort things out well.

Yep seems to have it beat in this area. It only took me around 20 minutes with Papers to see this weakness. :(

"G5 Powerbooks next Tuesday!"

That's my favourite rumor

For rumors look for the blue "?" featured in the articles of the front page.

It's my least...

Not too bad of a bundle. I'm not sure of the overall value listing. If one does use many of the apps, the better the value. Too bad someone doesn't put out a gaming bundle.

Probably b/c Apple will make it so you'd have to pay the $2,000,000 at an Apple Store or iTunes.

Ok...I'll get 10 MacPros & MacBookPros completely loaded with the large screens & backup HDs, one each of all of the different iPods in different colors, Every App I can find, a .Mac account for the next 50 years, a few servers, a few thousand songs and movies from iTunes, a few hundred gift cards to spread the wealth and an Apple t-shirt.:p;):D:)

Never met a bundle I didn't like -- Leopard Compatibility Chart!

Which apps have Leopard support?

  1. RapidWeaver -- yes
  2. ForkLift -- yes
  3. Swift Publisher -- says compatible with Leopard Beta ... hmmm
  4. Marine Aquarium -- not sure (it's implied by saying 10.4 or higher)
  5. Xslimmer -- yes
  6. MemoryMiner -- yes (took me a while to find that)
  7. Yep -- not sure (it's also implied, 10.4 or higher)
  8. XMIND 2008 Pro -- yes
  9. iStabilize -- well, 2.2.2 is advertised in the bundle, but 2.2.3 (released yesterday) had some Leopard fixes; I assume we really get access to 2.2.3
  10. PulpMotion -- yes

Other Notes

Swift Publisher is the "standard" edition (1100 cliparts, 90 designs). Upgrade to the "retail" edition (23,000 cliparts, 130 designs) for $10.

At least MemoryMiner and XMIND are cross platform being for Windows too. XMIND is even on Linux since it's a Java app.

MemoryMiner and PulpMotion are integrated (at least at some level) according to the MemoryMiner web site.

RapidWeaver and Forklift (and maybe even PulpMotion) are implied to give you a nice little workflow if you use them together.

I was on the fence about this bundle, but I guess I'll get it if a can do so and support MacRumors (I'm sooo selfless).

Last Bundle's Price "increased retroactively"

I bought the last bundle with Tech Tool Pro, Graphic Converter, and the others.

It was a decent value. Everything was eventually unlocked because the sales goals were reached. All of the serial numbers worked for me.

However, for anyone on the fence about this bundle, a drawback that hasn't yet been mentioned is that, in the last bundle, most of the apps updated soon afterwards, and many of those updates required payment of additional upgrade fees.

Not a deal breaker, but something you should expect in considering the value of the bundle.

It would probably have made more sense for MacRumors to partner on this the first day it was offered instead of the last.

Why the last minute push? I'm sure several MR readers who would have used the MR link already purchased it on their own...

Last bundle upgrades

Actually that's not true. MacUpdate paid for everyone to have the Graphic Converter upgrade, when they released a major new version. Little Snitch was also very generous and let people have the major 2.0 upgrade. In fact, all of the licenses followed normal upgrade paths, and for some, the developers let everyone have a free upgrade that should have been paid. They were very nice. :)

I can confirm this as well.

At best I got a nice e-mail from the developer with my new key.

At worst I e-mailed the developer's support and mentioned that I was part of the MacUpdate Promo.

I'm absolutely loving ForkLift. It's a great alternative to Transmit, especially since it also has extra features like an application deleter ...

May I ask a question here?

Maybe I'm dumb, but why would an FTP client software comes with an application deleter feature which seems to be completely irrelevant to the main idea of the app?

I just don't get it.

LOL.

I can hear it now:
"Yeah, I got $2,000,000 from Apple the other day. But I'm a little disappointed. They only gave it to me in large $100 bills. Now I'm going to have to go to the bank, get all of these large bills broken down into twenty dollar bills and set up some savings and IRA accounts. What a hassle! Jeez!!"

Can you be more specific about this? I was in on the last bundle too and the only thing I know for sure you had to pay more later for was SRS iWow, and that's only because the previous version isn't Leopard compatible (so you're really forced to pay more if you want to keep using it). I can't think of any others that have had a paid upgrade.

There's a Leopard compatible version of the iWow 1.x.

I really hate how they only give you about 5 activations though. It's a pain when you reinstall OS X. :(

Well, I bought it and XMind is not accepting the serial number it gave me. And, the site now seems to be down. Thanks for nothing guys. I want my money back.

Same here... although I won't go as far to say that I want my money back (yet).

The developers servers are probably swamped at the moment. Give them a few days.

I was going to upgrade my RapidWeaver anyway so this was almost no-brainer for me... XMind or otherwise.

MacRumors has partnered with MacUpdate to promote their latest Mac application bundle. Bundle sales through these links benefit MacRumors.com financially, and provide a way for readers to directly support this site.

The latest bundle delivers up to 10 Mac applications for $49.99 ($646.75 if bought separately) and are detailed here:

Forklift - file manager, FTP client
RapidWeaver - web design software
SwiftPublisher - desktop publishing and layout
Marine Aquarium - virtual aquarium
Xslimmer - save space by reducing application file sizes
MemoryMiner - digital storytelling application
Yep - "iPhoto for your PDFs"
XMIND 2008 Pro - brainstorming, mind mapping
iStabilize - software video stabilizer, remove shaky motion from your videos
PulpMotion* - create fun animations

As is typical in these time-limited bundles, several applications are held back as "locked" applications which are not part of the bundle until enough sales are generated. At this time, only PulpMotion remains locked until 5000 total sales are generated, at which time all 10 applications are available for everyone who has purchased the bundle. Total value of all 10 applications together is $646.75, and can be purchased for $49.99 today.

ADs should go on the RIGHT or left, not in the dead-center posing to be of as much interest as a REAL RUMOUR. Good for you, that you TEAMED up, i.e. get a cut of their sales through your site. Still, what's the value for the readers looking for "rumours" and updates?

How long before the middle-column is full with ads from every Tom, Dick and Harry?

i think the information was well placed. like the amazon book reader or new apple soft and hardware releases and intel cpu prices they are all of interest to many mac users. so why not placing them here? no reason to get:mad: after all the site is free. only cost's time.............:D

Thanks - I see that now. Must have slipped past me. I only installed Leopard this week so it's not like I'd been without it - it really does help quite a bit on the iMac...

Based on my having used Yojimbo and Papers up to now, Yep! is what put me over to do this. That's just what I needed.

Xmind won't acknowledge my license ? Jerks.

Xslimmer is cute, not big deal for most apps.

I had demos of couple, Swift Publisher and Rapidweaver, already so it was nice to license them.

I doubt I will use Forklift since I have been quite happy with Yummy FTP.
I may never use iStablize. Not sure when it would really be necessary.

$649 is more like about $100 for me, maybe.
