Really like the case but want to avoid any signal loss.

Anyone using a skin on the antenna band to prevent this?

I had tried to keep my zagg IS coating on around the band, but the fit became too tight resulting in excessive strain on the screws. So I got rid of them. But I did a quick test w/ the side coating on and the results didn't differ much from w/o any coating. ymmv.

I live in an area where having 4-5 bars is a norm, so doesn't really bother me much but db wise, it was a pretty substantial hit. At the gym, before I cruised @ -65 ~ -70db and now -80 ~ - 88db and other areas a 5 ~ 10db loss.

I've had the limited edition jewel beetle color since Monday, and have been testing reception out a good bit. Unfortunately I'm seeing a pretty big hit in reception as well. On average, I'm seeing a 20-24dB loss with the Draco on. The absolute minimum reception loss I've seen was a 16dB loss for about 5 minutes. At work and home, my naked iPhone 4S averages -86dB for reception (low end of 4 "bars"). With the Draco installed, it drops down to -107 to -111dB (high 1 "bar", very low 2 "bars"). So for me, for those of you wanting to hear it in "bars", I'm seeing 1-2 bars of signal loss with the Draco installed. GPS works great, however. Keep in mind that aluminum cases and their effect on reception vary greatly based upon geographic location (I'm in the metro Atlanta area). I've seen that time and time again in all of the aluminum and metal cases I test/review. And also keep in mind that the dB ("bar") scale isn't linear. If you had a theoretical 5 full bars, you could lose 25dB in reception and only drop to 4 bars on the signal meter. But at the same time, you can show 4 bars (be at the low end of that bar, -87dB), drop the same 25dB, and now show only 1 bar (which starts around -107dB). So for those people that are constantly in a 5 bar area, it's actually possible that they not "see" a signal loss at all on their bars, even though they still suffer the same impact (the 5th "bar" has the widest range as far as dB goes). But if you're in a 2-4 bar area, you may see a much greater change in the number of "bars" you're showing. And again, the effect of an all metal case can vary based upon what frequency your carrier is operating on in your area (850Mhz or 1900Mhz). They (the two frequency bands for the US) have dramatically different penetration (of materials like concrete, metal, etc) properties.

Can someone shine for me. I'd like to know how I check the signal in my iPhone. What a application do I need.

^ punch in *3001#12345#* in your keypad and voila! ;)

I feel stupid but I can't get this to work. I type it into the keypad, and nothing happens so I hit call and Verizon says its invalid. Am I missing something? Man I feel dumb.

Nvm...I'm retarded I punched it in wrong

It work for me. Make sure you're not typing too many zero.

it only works on att phones. if you jailbreak you can use a few applications through cydia.

so am i right to say oem cleave can fit 4s?

yes the cleave will fit your iPhone 4s, the switch works perfectly and you can't tell the difference.

I just bought a black one, should get it in about 3-4 days.

HOPEFULLY, I can squeeze it on with my BSE full body cover skin.

Sorry if it was mentioned before.

how does the headphone and car charger fit with the case?(non oem)

Is there really a reception issue? I was really interested in this case but I don't want it if it's going to give a bad reception.

there have been some posts of no reception drop at all but the reality of it is that all full aluminum cases will cause some drop. personally on this draco i was seeing about 8 to 12 db drop which in the big picture of reception bars isn't a full bar of reception, you might see a bar drop but you might have been on the low end of the db reading for that bar.

chris has posted that he is seeing much heavier drop in his area where he lives. As with all aluminum cases the frequency that your area uses for cell phone signal can greatly change the outcome of the performance of the case. overall its a sweet case.

^^ If you want to buy real, then buy it from one of the licensed resellers. If your looking for knockoffs go to aliexpress.
